About this house rental

Casa La Torre is a holiday home located in the historic center of the small medieval village of Macerino di Acquasparta, 700 meters above sea level. It is the ideal place to spend a relaxing period for those seeking the tranquility and originality of a small Umbrian medieval village.
The house, obtained from an old tower, has been recently restored respecting the original architecture and the peculiar characteristics of the village (exposed pink stone walls, ceilings with wooden beams, wrought iron railings, medieval windows, etc.) . It is furnished with care and in the choice of furniture and details there has been a lot of attention. It develops on various levels: on the ground floor there is the living room with fireplace and satellite TV, the kitchen equipped with everything necessary for self catering, a bathroom with tub; on the upper floor there is a bedroom with double bed, a bathroom with shower and a terrace / solarium from which you can enjoy a splendid view over the roofs of the village and the whole surrounding mountain; on the second floor there is a bedroom with a double bed and a sofa bed for an additional seat. Also in the basement there is a tavern with a large table and benches, with independent access from the outside or via an internal staircase from the living room.
In the property there is a wi-fi connection in all rooms.
Two mountain bikes are available for excursions in the surrounding countryside. It is customary to offer a homemade cake and a bottle of Umbrian wine as a welcome gift. Visits to the cellars of Montefalco can be organized for the tasting of its wines appreciated all over the world.
The small village of Macerino is 12 km from Acquasparta, 15 km from Spoleto, 30 km from Todi, 50 km from Orvieto, 50 km from Assisi, 70 km from Perugia and 100 km from Rome. You can also quickly reach many smaller towns, rich in art and history, such as: Sangemini, Narni, Amelia, Spello, Deruta, Montefalco (famous for the autochthonous wine Sagrantino). The Roman archaeological site of Carsulae (3rd century BC) can be reached in 20 minutes and the Marmore waterfall is 30 minutes away.
Macerino is immersed in the green Umbrian hills where you can take relaxing walks in contact with nature. There are three restaurants in the immediate vicinity where you can enjoy authentic Umbrian dishes. There is a swimming pool open to the public with a paid entrance (300 meters from the house).
NB: The rental price includes linen for bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen and final cleaning; it does not include LPG gas for heating for the winter period which must be paid separately according to consumption.

Casa la Torre is an authentically rustic home of millennia-old charm, perched in the picturesque hilltop village of Macerino. As a base for exploring Umbria, it’s perfect — and as a place to unwind, it’s ideal. The hosts, Maria Donata and Franco, are truly wonderful people. Meeting them was an absolute pleasure, and their warmth and care made us feel at home from the very first moment. They turned our stay into a truly memorable experience. Thank you so much!

We had a marvelous time in Macerino! Our hosts were most welcoming and attentive and probably the nicest people in Italy. Our accommodations were beautiful and comfortable, with the best beds we have slept on in the whole country. It was quiet and peaceful and remote, and that was part of the appeal. We did take day trips down the mountain to visit other cities for lunch, thus avoiding driving the mountain road after dark. We ate twice at La Fontana, and both times were an exercise in gastronomic quality and plenty. Otherwise, we got our groceries in Aquasparta and shared food and wine on the roof porch. Overall, an excellent experience if you truly need to get away and see small-town life with stunning mountaintop scenery in Italy. Gracie to our kind hosts! Jim and Lynne

This house, located at the small mountain village Macerino, is perfect when you want to enjoy the silence of nature. You are staying 650 meters above sea level. The road to the village is very small and sometimes bumpy. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the house from Acuasparta (this is the best way to get up the mountain). Maria and her husband did made our stay perfect. A bottle of wine and a pie at arrival. Towels, bedsheets everything is there. The contact during our stay was perfect. There are 2 swimmingpools nearby, 2 restaurants (not open every day) and a small shop. Shopping can best be done in Terni. If you are doing this, first go down the mountain to Acquasparta and from here to Terni. We found out this was the best way to travel down and up the mountain. So if you are looking for a unique, traditional and silent location. This is one of the places to be !!

From start to finish, everything was perfect. The owner was quick to respond to any questions prior to arrival. The drive up to the hilltop village is breathtaking! Be certain to follow the owners directions for an easy drive from Aquasparta. We were greeted upon arrival by the owners who were incredibly warm and friendly. They even presented us with a beautiful pastry, olive oil from his trees and a bottle of premium of Umbrian wine. The house (tower) dates from 1000AD and even has a medieval dagger displayed that was discovered during renovations! The house is large and spacious, beautifully decorated and offers beautiful views of the mountainous countryside from the rooftop terrace. We have never stayed at a cleaner vacation rental, even the sheets were ironed. There is a lovely fireplace to enjoy on a chilly evening. The kitchen is beautifully equipped with everything you would ever need. The tiny village offers peace and tranquility. The owners were at our disposal and even came to check up and see how we were doing. It is a perfect base for exploring Umbria. We were sad to go and it was the highlight of our month in Italy. We look forward to our return! Graziemille!
