Lovely apartment in the lively old town of Nice

If you're looking for a great Old Town Nice experience this is the place!! Shops and restaurants are literally just steps away. Bus stops and tram to the airport an easy 10 minute walk. Communication with the host was quick and full of helpful tips. Check in was great, flexible. Even included a tour of the apartment and recommendations for the best local restaurants. The hosts father stopped by and visited for a couple hours. We shared stories and had a heartfelt visit. So glad we got a chance to chat and make memories. All in all a great little place and would highly recommend! One thing, it's an upstairs apartment, the steps are steep and would be a challenge for someone with mobility issues. Our visit was in April, weather was perfect, no need for AC.

Location great and check in procedure great too. Apartment was a decent size with a comfortable bed, good furnishing and a good air con unit.

Laura and her Dad were very helpful with the arrival and check-in process. The apartment is located in an excellent location, walking distance to shops, restaurants, public transit, etc. The apartment itself is small (by US standards) for 4 people. Some minor improvements, like fixing the exhaust fan in the bathroom, unclogging shower drain, etc. would go a long way in improving the customer experience.

Things to appreciate: - location - all amenities in place inc. a washing machine, no dish washer, - spacious, can host up to 4 persons, - a lot of guides in English - starter tea, coffee, sugar - price relevant to quality Things that could be improved: -apartment is on the 1st flow, a narrow street, so not very bright; use of dark gray paint on the main wall and some other parts like sliding door makes it even more gloomy - level differences from living room to kitchen and bedroom are dangerous; though we have been warned and put extra caution, we tripped a few times, fortunately without injuries - dirty radiators - dusty in many not so 'visible-at-first-sight", places - poor contact with owner: three days prior to arrival no check-in details nor contact provided to property owner; 24h before check-in, still no info; customer services contacted; us on the verge of believing that booking was a scam; 3 phone calls and e-mails to property owner, to no avail; smses sent; no answer; finally at ca 2.30 PM owner picks up the phone to inform that our booking is valid; prior to that, 3h prior to that spent on help line not nice start of holidays - the flat requires thorough clean-up; we were bitten by bed-bugs; no idea if they were there before or came in with previous guests. All in all: booked this property basedo VRBO reviews; I'd prefer to pay a bit more to have comfy conditions and avoid pre-arrival stress. Disc: personal opinion based on Dec 23-Jan 204 stay (5 days).
