This cottage is in a great position with lovely sea views over the Kyles of Bute and a short hop down to the shore. Inside it is bright, light and modern with everything you need provided. Outside there is a lovely garden and two seating areas for meals. We had all our meals sat outside enjoying the sunshine and the views. Everything inside and out is in an immaculate condition - simply a wonderful place to be and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The owner Isobel was there to meet us when we arrived and gave us the warmest of welcomes with detailed information on everything within the cottage and outside. We loved everything about this cottage and the location.

We spent a wonderful week at The Knowe with our two young children. The house was immaculate and extremely comfortable, with everything we needed (and more) provided. Isobel was verly communicative and gave us some helpful tips of things to do in the area, as well as kindly providing a cot for our youngest and toys for both the kids. The area is beautiful, so much to see and do within easy driving/ferry distance. We had a wonderful week and hope we can return again!

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The cottage is clean, comfortable and feels like a home not a rental. The kitchen is really well equipped - even with foil and baking paper ! We stayed in Isobel's cottage 9-16th April 2022 and were absolutely blown away by the stunning location and the beautiful quaint cottage. Isobel was so accommodating from the moment we booked. She made sure the log fire was set up for our arrival and the cottage was sparkling clean with everything you could need. The sea views are incredible and the village is lovely with a local premiere store for shopping essentials, 2 cafes, a nic-Nacs store, 2 hotels that serve food, a childrens play park with enclosed football and open shinty pitches as well as some fantastic walks. We were lucky enough to spot otters twice on our walks, which was just wonderful! I would highly recommend this beautiful cottage to everyone. You won't be disappointed!! And Isobel is the perfect host. Thank you for having us. We will be back!!!

Had a great time. Isobel the owner was there to meet us and was really helpful recommending some nice places to visit and eat. The area is breathtaking, so calming and just what we all needed. Some nice restaurants and lots to do, especially if you like the water and walking and a beautiful Sandy beach just 15 mins drive away. The house is beautiful and so well equipped with everything you could need and some lovely touches like beach towels and blankets for cold evenings. We will definitely come back.

The cottage was as advertised very clean,comfortable and beautiful location.Communication with the owner was great.Local shops friendly and the weather could not have been better. Boat trip on the Morag and shore walk at Carry farm are a must locally.Also Ostel beach and beaches on Mull.

Wonderful to be able to get away for the first time in 18+ months. The house is stunning as is the garden - with gorgeous views from every room. Even better than we had hoped for in every regard. Tighnabruaich is a lovely place in and lovely part of the world. The village is welcoming and there is a lot to do and see just on the doorstep. The cottage is a real home from home and has everything you need for a break away from the world. Although if you are addicted to your phone or tablet it also has a good broadband connection. We regularly stay in cottages and we would put this one right at the top of our favourites. We will definitely be back!

We had a fabulous stay at Knowe cottage. It's well equipped, clean, homely and cosy. The wood burner was fab in cold weather! Beds all comfortable with quality linens. The garden large and brilliant for dogs or children. The only possible issue is it's not fully enclosed, (No drive gates) so need to supervise. Set in a beautiful location, just a stones throw from the beach and 5 minute walk to local shops/restaurants. A great base for exploring the stunning Cowal Peninsula. Recommend the short drive and walk to Ostel beach. Very pretty, quite flat walk too so easy for kids or those less able. The owner Isobel was very welcoming, unobtrusive and a great source of local information. The recommendation to visit Portavadie spa/pool was great, especially on a wet day. I would thoroughly recommend Knowe cottage for a quiet break. A real wee gem in Tighnabruiach! I hope to return again.

. We were met by Isobel who gave us a warm welcome and showed us around the cottage. It had everything we needed and best of all, the beds were comfortable. We love Tighnabruaich and this cottage was in a lovely position to see the sea from all the windows. Would recommend this cottage.

Glad we were in "The Knowe"

We have just returned from a truly wonderful week’s holiday staying in “The Knowe”. Isobel, the owner, made the whole process from booking right through to our stay a pleasant and stress free experience. The cottage is very well appointed and nicely maintained. It feels like a proper home not a minimalist holiday let. The accommodation is comfortable and stylish. Isobel shows a great eye for detail using quality bed linen, towels and soft furnishings mixed with lovely old furniture, artwork and flowers. These are all in keeping with the old property’s character. The views from the house are amazing and the garden is large and well furnished with various seats and a table from which to eat or simply relax and admire the phenomenal views. The setting is peaceful and private and within easy walking distance of the good local facilities. There is the added bonus of off street parking. The Knowe makes an ideal base to explore this beautiful area. There are many splendid walks from Tighnabruaich and numerous interesting attractions nearby. The weather was kind to us and we walked for miles locally and then ventured further afield to Bute, including visiting Mount Stuart plus Scalpsie and Ettrick Bays. We toured the Cowal Peninsula and went to Portavadie and Otter Ferry. The whole area is well worth a visit. We were impressed by the warm welcome extended to us by everyone we met along with the stunning natural beauty, wildlife and tranquillity. Many thanks Isobel. We hope to return.

The whole experience was a joy and when the sun came out it was a picture post card experience. Very well kept cottage, lovely and warm with the log burner and very clean. Thanks Isobel for the information about the walks (our dog Saffy loved the chance to explore). Everyone was so friendly. The only advise is be warned that ferries are on winter timetables until the end of March. A great place to visit.
