Fantastic place with warm atmosphere and a caring host

It was our second stay at Casa Gio. All as perfect as before! Clean and comfortable apartments, a wonderful garden and terraces with sea view. A small but refreshing pool and most important: a self service bar providing an amazing atmosphere Thank you Gio for having us at your wonderful place!

Awesome stay with Gio!

We had a great stay here. Gio is a really lovely guy,, he went out of his way to ensure we had a great time. The room was some homely. The kitchen had everything you could ever need to make a great meal. The bed was comfortable, the fan was strong. The wifi worked very well throughout the property. We managed to talk to Gio a bit, he built a lot of the property himself. The bar, gym and pool area were all awesome. He also played some great music too!

Relaxing Homestay with stunning sea views

Beautiful views, lovely small pool to cool down in, well stocked honesty bar and attentive hosts. Simple well built accommodation and it was great to have a kitchenette so we could make ourselves breakfast and hot drinks in the morning. The terrace was great for sunsets over the sea or just relaxing in a hammock with a book. Gio couldn’t do enough, was quick to assist with any queries or issues and often checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Whole place was a little oasis away from the main strip and they had friendly cats to snuggle with which is always a bonus in my eyes.

The room we had, had the toilet and shower downstairs in a more public area - but to be fair the description did say that it was an external bathroom. It was all fine but just slightly inconvenient. Local wildlife (dogs and roosters) could be a little noisy in the morn - but our powerful in room fan drowned out the noise really effectively.

Amazing stay in Puerto Escondido!

The property is set up really well and has everything to have a good time. The big trees give a lot of shade, there are 2 cute cats and even a gym! Gio and his partner do everything to make your stay as fun and comfortable as possible. The check in was easy. Our studio with a balcony was really lovely. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. The pool is great for spending the 30 degree days, along with the hammocks. Gio had great recommendations for laundry services, boat tours, (vegan) restaurants and how to get around cheaply (via colectivos). He called a taxi for us on our last day which we really appreciated. We also really enjoyed the bar where you can take things yourself and just write them down. We felt very taken care of, and at the same time had a lot of our own space. The room was really clean and Gio was happy to switch our towels after a couple of days. Overall, Gio has built a really lovely slice of heaven in this really cute town, and you can see it in all the details and care he puts into the property.

Some nights you might be woken up by dogs barking, birds singing or other animals, so bring some earphones. On the positive side, you will be able to hear the ocean waves at night!

Amazing!

Gio is an excellent host; he immediately made us feel welcome and gave us great tips on where to eat and which beaches are the most beautiful to visit, without too many tourists. We had an amazing view of the sea, and the location is within walking distance (15–20 minutes) from La Punta. Drinks were available at the bar. You simply had to write down and tally the number of drinks (for example, beers) under your room number so it could be settled at the end of your stay. Casa Gio has a small gym located in the courtyard, along with a swimming pool and several showers and toilets that everyone can use, in addition to the private bathroom in your own apartment. We also rented a scooter from him, which made it really easy to get around. It was a great experience to discover Puerto Escondido this way. On our last day, we ran into a problem with our laundry. We had dropped our clothes off at a local laundry shop, but when we came back to pick them up, the store was closed. Since we were flying home the next day, we really needed our clothes. Luckily, Gio came to our rescue—he called the shop to check if there was still a way to get our laundry, and thanks to his help, we were able to pick it up a few hours later. We’re really grateful to Gio for being such a great help, a warm and welcoming host, and just a true people’s person. I can recommend Casa Gio to everyone.

I stayed for a week and extended it for another 2. Beautiful place, beautiful people and a beautiful energy.

The moment I walked through the door I felt relaxed. The energy is so soothing and I felt at home. Beautiful greenery with hamacs and a small swimming pool to unwind. There is also an outdoor gym which is perfect for working out in the cooler hours. Gio is a lovely and thoughtful host. He is very attentive and always willing to help to ensure your stay is the most comfortable and enjoyable it could possibly be. It’s also close walking distance to La Punta but without the noise. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a home away from home.

Good vibes at Casa Gio

Giovani and Nallely are very sweet people. They are atending their guests very well. For every need they are there to help or advice you. They really try to make you feel at home. The place is very beautiful. You can see and feel they made it that way with a lot of love. Its not too far from La Punta. A ten to 15 min walk. A lot of people rent a bike and then its really closeby. The vibe is very nice. The place is clean and green. Lovely experience. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The vibe was wonderful. Very chill. Gio the owner was extremely helpful and sweet. The pool was great and there’s a lot of shade. Completely stocked kitchen and close to shops and restaurants and the beach. The beds were also very comfortable. Extremely good value! I would recommend to everyone!

A magic place with a magic host!

We had an amazing experience at Casa Gio. Staying with Gio is like visiting a wonderful family member. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and treated like old friends. Gio's a local with a wealth of knowledge that he's happy to share and we went to several of the places he recommended and had the best time. Many of his recommendations were things only a local would know, and not to be found online. Our room was spotlessly clean and Gios entire garden and space is a tranquil oasis. It's a slice of heaven with a view of the ocean. We watched the sunset from our tree house, then had a cerveza at the bar, and a dip in the pool. Gio was always there to help us whenever we needed anything but also respected our privacy. We are so grateful we chose Casa Gio. We can't wait to go back! Gracias Gio!

Gio. He is a wonderful person. Advised us and organised trips. it’s cheap.

Booked it because it was cheap, room with shared bathroom. in reality it’s a shake with a bed perched high with narrow stairs. Toilet and shower under the shake. There were other rooms with attached bathroom. But all basic with tiny swimming pool.

A wonderful, simple place to stay that has everything you need in a relaxing tropical oasis.

Casa Gio is a relaxing oasis that you appreciate after a day out in P.E.. The greenery, the pool, the hammocks, the music and the bar all contribute to Casa Gio being a place you can spend a lot of time. If you can't "unplug" and need to work or update your networks, the WiFi is great. The beds are comfortable, there is a gym and the kitchen has everything you need to cook for yourself. If it doesn't, GIo will do his best to find it for you. Casa Gio is a special place in La Punta but in Gio himself you will not find a more gracious, caring host.

The place was amazing! Beautiful, clean, the kitchen had everything you can think of and the tropical garden had a pol and a gym :) Gio was also very welcoming and happy to help with anything at all! And the location was great, close enough to la punta and the beach to be in the centre of everything in less than 10 minutes but still being a very calm neighborhood. Plus if you dont want to walk 10 mins you can even rent scooters or bicycles from Gio :) Overall we will really miss this place, it was like a little oasis in Puerto Escondido :)

Tranquility in Paradise

So glad we chose to stay at Casa Gio! Gio couldn’t do enough to make our stay one to remember and it was so nice to have someone who cares so much about their guests. We certainly made use of the pool, small (but well equipped) gym & cooking facilities (in our room) - not to mention the coffee which was enjoyed every morning whilst watching the hummingbirds from the hammocks! Casa Gio's is the best

Don't look any further - Gio's place is amazing! A little sanctuary close enough to La Punta but just far enough away to disconnect. Our room was rustic but clean and had everything we needed, the open honesty bar is great with beers and water always available, and Gio is a great guy always on hand to help out or tell a story while still letting us feel like we had privacy and our own space. Also... the Juice bar and Tacos bar at the bottom of the street were some of the best food we had in La Punta. Thanks Gio - we really hope we make it back soon to see the new extension!

Great location, friendliness, and everything you need on walking distance of the beach.

The friendliness and hospitality level of the owner, in combination with all the great stuff of the property: - An outside shower - Hammocks everywhere - Showers with water pressure - A big fridge and all the tools needed for a small kitchen - An outside gym - Everything is easily walkable - Closeby the collectivo's And so on. Thereby Gio and his team do everything in their limits to make your stay an unforgettable memory. Would definately go back and advise booking here. 🙏

Perfect! :)

We loved to stay with Gio! The Cabana was absolutely perfect, with a kitchen equiped with all stuff you need. Located near La Punta you can get around quickly and Gio is always down for some advises, help or information. For enjoying the evening there is a pool to take a cool refreshing or the bar for cold beers. The best Hostel we had in Mexico, we will for sure come back :) Thanks Gio!

Little Slice of Paradise

Gio's place was a fantastic stay. The courtyard/garden has plenty of shade with hammocks and a pool to stay cool through the day. Gio was incredibly attentive, and giving us lots of suggestions for activities to do in the area.

Simply amazing

We liked every moment, from the beginning to the end of our stay. We came exhausted and late in the evening at Casa Gio after a long trip with our son, and we had booked the accommodation very quickly a few days before, so we didn't know exactly what to expect. From the very first minute we felt welcome and relaxed, like a warm bath after a long day of work. The hosts are fantastic, the rooms were large and Gio built a little bar in the middle of the apartments where you could relax, or have a conversation with one of the other guests. Simply amazing and totally recommended
