Lovely rustic off-grid cottage located on a stunning bay

This was our second visit to this island off Hvar. This rustic off-grid house is all about the location. Two great swimming beaches on your doorstep with clear azure water … just be sure to bring your swimming shoes. Four great (expensive) beach bars/restaurants nearby so popular for yacht moorings and day trippers from Hvar. At night it is very peaceful. Fully equipped kitchen and lovely terrace with views of the bay and sunsets. Open fire/BBQ on rear terrace.

The house is set back from the beach in the trees so mosquitos were a problem. No AC but fans in the rooms. No mosquito nets as advertised. The bathroom is quite basic and could do with an upgrade. The owner needs to negotiate a better rate with the taxi boats (for visitors without their own boat) otherwise it proves too expensive to stay here for a week and have enough supplies to enjoy your holiday. You have to shop in Hvar town and taxi boats are more expensive this year charging us €10 pp each way (because if you go over to Hvar in an empty boat in the morning after it has dropped off the day trippers it is a ‘private hire’ which makes no sense as it goes back and forth all morning and afternoon)! Disappointed that transfers from Hvar weren’t included in the price this year so add another €80 for a family of 4 just to get to the island and back.

Lovely hosts and stunning location I will certainly return.

Lovely and helpful owners. The location is wonderful and the views stunning. Bedding was clean and fresh. This property could be exceptional with just a little more attention to detail. Having Mamato Bar Restaurant and Relaxation Zone on our doorstep was such a bonus, it made our holiday!!

The property needs a little maintenance, we had a broken sun lounger, broken door on kitchen cupboard and no water for a day because the pump broke (the owner immediately came out to resolve the problem but you are on an island with no mains water supply). The king size bed is not very comfortable. There are no mosquito nets. Some of the facilities listed need updating as do photographs (there is no hammock in the garden as seen in main photo) I also seem to recall it lists a hot tub and tumble dryer, it may be worth checking the list with owner. The house could benefit from a guest book with details of taxi boats, the boat which comes around the island selling fruit and bread etc.....small things which we eventually found out about from Mamato Bar but would have been useful to know earlier in our stay.
