Faros

It was a really, really beautiful location – the accommodation, the courtyard, the access to the water, the privacy. The staff was very relaxed. It was exactly what I was looking for in a vacation in Greece. A secluded, traditional place. I will definitely come back 100%. Don’t judge it by the stars, as it only has two – trust the rating and the reviews instead. The only thing that could be a downside for some people (especially with kids) is that they don’t have a restaurant where you can choose what to eat. Everyone eats whatever is cooked that day. Personally, I find it nice and charming, but for some it might be an inconvenience. Anyway, there are tavernas in the area.

The shower is a bit small and basic

The host Yasmine’s calm and quiet demeanour sets the foundation for the relaxing experience at Faros. The property is set within an Olive grove close to the cliffs and the water. There are sun beds scattered under the olives for naps, and you can access the water through a path and stairs down the cliffs to a natural pool among the rocks. Bring your snorkel you won’t regret it. Yasmine cooks breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, at extra cost. All organic produce from the garden, every night a different main course. Fantastic food. We ate well, we rested, we enjoyed the sun and the sea. The whole experience feels like a spiritual retreat. The rooms are clean, have AC, TV, balcony, drying rack for wet suits, fridge etc. Rustic decor, very warm. The Milopotamos beach is accessible by a 5 min walk through a path, and Faros is good base location to explore the rest of Pelion. If you’re renting a car - get a 4WD, our mini car had a hard time with the hills of Pelion. Overall wonderful stay!
