I enjoyed my stay so much that I was a bit sad to leave, but I will definitely visit again soon!

The location is close to where I needed to be, within walking distance, and close to the shops. Also the staff is very helpful and friendly, as always. The breakfast is always fresh and lovely.

On a quite place, the stuff was very friendly and not far from waterfront and many restaurants. The breakfast was good.

No air conditioning but we it wasn’t hot and we managed to sleep with open windows.

It was ok, could be better.

Location is perfect easy access to shops and restaurants.

The breakfast was such a disappointment, only bread and boiled eggs, not an English breakfast. There was a washing line outside the room and the ladies would make noise from outside by the washing line.

Nice building, next to V&A waterfront. Common and accessorized kitchen useful to eat your own food. Supportive staff. Room simple and clean.

Amazing Value and Homely Atmosphere in a Good Location

Spotless and homely. I loved my stay at Altona Lodge and would definitely return. It's simple but ticks all the boxes: Comfy bed, super clean, nice airy room, friendly staff, free tea and coffee downstairs, good breakfast, good location, and lovely building with character. Amazing value IMO. Plenty of showers and toilets too for those sharing. I never had to wait.

Stunning place and kind staff

Stunning place and while private and quiet, the location is still close enough to everything in Cape Town. The room and amenities are perfect for short stays and the light breakfast spread was a bonus. We will definitely book here again.

The best place to stay in Cape Town

Our stay at Altona in Cape Town was excellent. The entire property was impeccably clean, and the staff were consistently courteous and helpful. Breakfast was enjoyable, and we especially appreciated that, although we arrived before the official check-in time, our room was already prepared. Coffee and tea were available at all times, and the kitchen could be used whenever needed, always without any inconvenience. Everything was managed with great flexibility and ease. If we return to Cape Town, we would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you very much for everything and for making our stay so pleasant.

A good place to base yourself in Cape Town for a couple of days

Friendly staff, 24/7 cold filtered water and tea station downstairs. Quiet. Safe area.

Breakfast is OK but it’s a cold buffet. Some hot / fresh options would be nice.

Picturesque place

A lovely place with hints of British charm. It offers great value for money and a peaceful atmosphere in a quiet, well located neighbourhood. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is sufficient to start the day. Just a short walk away, Main Road has plenty of charming cafes and shops to explore. The friendly staff make you feel truly welcome, giving the place a warm, home away from home, feeling. I enjoyed my stay so much that I'm already planning my next trip back.

Fantastic hosts, great view, high quality.

The staff were exceptional. Felt very welcome upon arrival, our room had a lovely view, the breakfasts included were generous and fresh. We had to book an extra night whilst staying at this property and the owners were more than happy to extend our stay, then allowed us to store our luggage after checking out as our flight was later that night. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will certainly be back next time we visit Cape Town.

A home from home stay in a wonderful neighbourhood, peaceful but close to everything you need!

A perfect location, close to everything in a quiet residential part of town. Exactly what I wanted and everything was as advertised, the customer service from Catherine and Michael was first class, especially given some changes to my schedule that they were able to resolve swiftly. The house was old but very well-kept, feeling homely and very calm and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious too!

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The breakfast, while small, was of very good quality and a pleasant start to the day. We also greatly valued the many helpful tips provided, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The entire property was spotless and very well maintained. Many thanks for your hospitality.

Beautiful place, ideal location, wonderful staff

A beautiful property with spacious rooms, in an ideal and quiet location, near some great cafes and bars, with a lovely seafront walk into the V&A Waterfront and a tasty breakfast each day. What made the experience really shine was the extremely kind and welcoming staff. We had an unfortunate mugging incident on our second day, whilst on a hike on Signal Hill, and the staff (Michael, Katherine, Mofat, and Trevor in particular) could not have been more helpful and supportive in getting everything sorted so we could get back to enjoying our holiday. Their support through a difficult experience, as well as their generally friendly and accommodating approach throughout our stay, was truly incredible - we have never experienced such hospitality before. We will be certainly be recommending Altona to all of our friends and family who come to stay in Cape Town. Thanks so much guys!

Warm hospitality and perfect location

I’ve stayed at Altona a few times, and it consistently offers the best accommodation experience. This visit was a last-minute booking, and Catherine handled it with such ease and warmth, her smile alone feels like a welcome. The place is always spotlessly clean, and the bed is incredibly comfortable, making every stay relaxing. I absolutely love the location - it’s close to the gym, a pleasant walk to the beach and the V&A, and conveniently near the shops. Altona has truly become my go-to spot for me, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

It was what we expected, warm and cosy. Worth the price.

The facility is situated in the quiet and peaceful street in Greenpoint. Well situated within walking distance to the main road, shops, restaurants and other places of interest. Perfect for summer walks to the beach. We felt safe and did not have to worry about our vehicle being parked in the street.

The breakfast was a bit dry with the boiled eggs on both days of our stay. A variety the following day would have been more satisfactory.

Simple accommodations in a great area of Capetown

The staff were kind and the location was walking distance of everything I needed. The breakfast was continental but decent. I loved that they allowed me to use the kitchen if I wanted in the day. The house has a sweet resident cat that loves attention. The price was excellent.

The facility is clean but is not fancy in any way (more like a grandma house than a hotel). The WiFi and TV were not really functional (I was eventually able to connect to Netflix). The coffee was not good, but I'm picky about that.

The property is perfectly located in Cape Town. The Area is called Green Point. It is a central and safe location. The rooms are well maintained. The price for the room is fair. Everything. We were allowed to check in earlier. The facilities were clean and you could have access to the kitchen and the dinning area. The accommodation is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The hostess was very helpful.
