Hotel Cima

Very close to Bahnhof and to Gornegratbahn. Comfy room. I had a private bathroom and a balcony with a nice view of the Matterhorn. The owner/manager is the most delightful welcoming lady. Room cleaned and bed made daily. Very close to Co-Op supermarket. Boot warmers in ski room were a nice surprise.

No elevator but that’s not a dealbreaker.

Location!! Was absolutely fantastic!! Walk from train station, co op, and in the centre of everything, but still quiet. We could see The Mattahorn from our balcony, lovely garden to sit out. Our own bathroom. Very warm and cosy, heating was efficient. The price!! Very grateful ☺️

This is a place if you're on a budget, so we were grateful it exists for our budget. The place is tired and needs some TLC, beds squeak, no kettle, pillows flat. We thought of it as visiting our Grandparents, as it had that old feeling, sadly past its glory, but it did the job.

The view is fantastic, you can see the Matterhorn from the balcony of the room I got. There is on reception and I was a bit late in the evening but was greeted with a smile any way, so thank you. The house is cozy and looks so good.

The rest room was not so well designed and for a big guy like me it was a bit tight. But that is to be expected for a house like this.

Hotel Cima's location is perfect in Zermatt - right next to the bahnhof and the Gornergratt train. The old lady managing the place was very sweet and helpful, and her behavior made our stay much more palatable despite the relatively poor facilities of the place. The views of Matterhorn from the garden and balconies is breathtaking. Overall, in a place as expensive as Zermatt, I would say that Hotel Cima offers reasonable value for money.

The hotel is poorly maintained and old. The carpets were super dusty, and triggered significant allergies and breathing problems for a couple of people in our group who have asthma symptoms. The attached showers had drainage issues. The bedding provided was not the cleanest (one person found old blood stains on their blanket). In any other place apart from Zermatt, I would rate the place very poorly. However, in Zermatt, you will be hard pressed to find anything close to the bahnhof in this price range. Sine we only stayed 2 nights and were out in the mountains the entire day, this was sufficient for our purpose.
