A bit of Xmas magic

A quaint old fashioned Gasthof. The bar/ restaurant saloon is traditionally decorated and was adorned for Xmas with a tree with a model train at the base. Joyful. Beautiful original tiling in the hallways. Single room was basic but very clean. Very well situated near to the airport.

Staff were accommodating, given how late we arrived. We added breakfast for the morning and it was lovely. The lady was very kind and chatty. The hotel itself was basic, traditional and cute. The lounge bar area was quirky and the Christmas decor made it a lovely experience.

Book a taxi rather than go to the weeze airport taxi rank as they don't want to take on short journeys.

A very comfortable solution coming from the airport or the train station

The location Is PERFECT if you need to get a train the day after, it's super close to the train station. Also, the host allowed me to check in late at night since I was coming in from the airport with a late flight. Also, it is very close to the airport shuttle stop.

It would be nice to be able to pay with card, instead of only cash. Also, if only cash is accepted,maybe they should message directly the guest sharing this very important information through booking. Just to make sure that people arrive prepared. I am usually without cash and out of luck I had it on me yesterday but many people are cashless nowadays.

Clean room but owner attitude is not welcoming at all. She looks stressed and unhappy in her job.

-5 messages (within 5 hours) from the owner asking the same question “what time will you arrive ?”. 1 message would have been enough - Not a warm welcome at all by the owner, who demanded that I pay my room by cash, when I requested to pay by card, owner abruptly said NO, no smile, no excuses. - Owner said Breakfast is served latest at 9.00 am and check-out 10.00 am. I came downstairs for breakfast at 9.15 am, she was obviously upset at me. She told me I had only 10 minutes to eat because at 9.30 am , I have to leave the table. Seriously ? I was the only customer ! Since the check-out is until 10.00 am, why not letting me enjoy my breakfast until 9.45 am ? -Owner served me coffee without asking if I wanted tea or coffee - The owner is not friendly, not smiling, she thinks she us running a military camp. She is in the wrong business.

It was ok for one night!

I did not have breakfast there since I had to catch an early train from the Weeze Station. The room was ok, very big, plenty of space. I did not have a big suitcase, so it was easy for me to do all the stairs to reach my room. You can reach the hotel in 10 minutes by taxi from the airport Düsseldorf Weeze. It is located very closed to the train station in Weeze, it takes 3 minutes to reach it, which is very convenient!

It would be great to have the possibility to pay by card.

Polite host but very tired room

The lady was polite and informed us it was cash only

No information to say cash was required. Smell off smoke. Blind fell apart as pulled down Exhausted on arrival as train disrupted Host gave us directions to bus link but if it hadn’t been for a local offering us a lift we would have been stranded. During week probably be different.

Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff.

I needed a place to sleep for the night following a late arrival from Edinburgh. I was greeted at reception by the owner who's English was very good and was super helpful and accommodating. It was only a brief stay but I'd highly recommend the Alt Weeze to anyone and am grateful for the hospitality shown. A+++++

Disappointing

The location is very close to the train station if you come by air or train. The breakfast was ok.

They don't appear to have any designated parking...just park where you can. The building was old and very basic. The bar and food was closed so struggled to find a place to eat and drink because 95%of Weeze was closed. Could go on but the best way to describe the stay the 'Alt Weeze' is a very basic not particularly well kept old hostel.

Very close to train station. Comfortable clean, friendly mom and pop hotel. Nice lady proprietor. Very nice breakfast. I will stay again.

Super tall staircases - not for the faint of heart! All restaurants closed when the fair is on. They should tell you this. No A/C. Fortunately was a cool night. Definitely a mom and pop hotel. Don't expect the Ritz!

very supportive staff, and also a flexible check-in workers. my train was delayed so they helped me to check in even after 11pm. also both reception workers I talked to had a great level of English)
