Not worth the money spent!

Everything, is old and run down and dirty. Bathroom is cramped and have maintenance issues. Kitchen appliances are dirty, cutlery&crockery has seen better days.... extremely hot during our stay. Unit have a little ceiling fan and a floor fan that is covered in layers of dust. Linen and towels need to be replaced. Got the feeling that the accommodation has become a afterthought, no attention to anything. Overall very disappointed in the accommodation and would recommend that the owner invest some time and money on improvements.

Solo stay at mayflower

I loved the hospitality of Jenny. The room had an amazing view of the mountain. DSTv helped alot and bed was very comfortable.

Im sorry Jenny, as sweet as u were, I don't believe the place is 4 square/star worthy. Had an empty tissue box, kettle is 100 yrs old, toilet roll holder falling apart, bade shower dusty i dont know when last it was cleaned, lamps dusty, first nyt I smelt dirty feet near kitchen table when dining, so avoided walking barefoot my whole stay, cheap quality tea bags n coffee. No help taking bags up stairs as I was solo, bathroom tap handle dirty underneath, towels in bathroom 3 different colours. Just a little attention to detail would go a long way. Tnx

We felt at home.

Everything was perfect - what a wonderful stay. The host is super friendly and gave us lots of good recommendations. It’s only a short walk away from the restaurants and the cliff path.

A lovely cosy place to stay

The room is small, but inviting, delightful, and cheerful. The hosts were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The balcony was great, offering private additional space. The location is great, in a quiet residential area very close to the wonderful coastal path and an easy walk from the town centre shops and restaurants.

The kitchen sink and draining rack are a bit small, but that's a minor matter.

Perfect stay

Everything was great Super warm welcome, we could even choose the apartment we wanna have :) We felt like home. All the recommendations and even places where to spot whales where shared with us. Super easy communication through WA with the owner. I would definitely come back

I chose this accommodation because of the little balcony overlooking the mountains. The perfect start and end to a work away from home day.

The rooms are situated above the home owners with entry through their main house. While not an issue for many, I prefer a private entrance.

The Mayflower was a treasure of a find in Hermanus, both in safety and location.

Jenny, the owner was friendly and helpful, offering practical advice to ensure a good stay. The view and facilities on the veranda were an added bonus.

Great Location and Value

This is a great place to explore Hermanus and/or see the whales. It is quite close to a trail that goes along the shore for about 14 km through Hermanus and beyond. The host Jenny was very helpful with tons of suggestions of what to see and where to eat. She even arranged a whale cruise for us. Definitely a place to return to.

Modest room for a rest stop. We loved the warm welcome from the host! Had all the basic essentials for a one-night stay.

The apartment was situated close to decent restaurants, however we would prefer a safer neighborhood for our next Hermanus trip.

Wonderful stay!

Jenny is an amazing host! she's not on your face during the days of your stay... I loved the fact that she shared so many tips about Hermanus and what to do during our stay. The place is amazing, she has dogs, but they are no BOTHER, one gentle Giant (copper) and a small one.... She is an exceptional artist, loved her partings. And I felt at home, she has a Motherly welcome... I forgot my handbag and make up bag, she willingly sent them via courier, without complaints... We were happy with our stay.

It was relatively clean, but the unit does need a good spring clean. There was also crumbs on chair, carpet not entirely clean and long female hear in bathroom.

Room was spacious and nicely appointed.

The entrance facility to the property and garaging is quite claustrophobic. The gardens leading to the house entrance are very overgrown. The carpets in the room of the unit we were allocated looked very old and in need of a good clean. The bathroom is also very cramped.

Close proximity to the Hermanus Day Hospital and very comfortable room. Very helpful and friendly hosts.Jenny offered to pick my husband up in the evening when he was discharged. Much appreciated!
