Lovely place to stay.

Breakfast, room, location, host were all excellent. A very pleasant stay all round.

Bit of a climb to the third floor where our room was located. Bi-fold door to the ensuite didn't shut out the noise very well when visited in the middle of the night.

The property is an absolutely beautiful grade 2 listed former school. It has been refurbished to an amazing level with attention to detail and beautiful fixtures and fittings.

We had an excellent time at Caer Menai and would definitely go back.

Very good breakfast with a good selection of foods for all needs/wants. It had a very central location with good parking nearby. The room was cute and very clean. Neil was a fantastic host, giving us suggestions and going out of his way to help out with a medical issue.

Bathroom was a little small but fine for a couple.

Perfect place to experience Caernarfon and its surroundings.

Everything was excellent at Caer Menai. It has a great location, close to the castle, water, and is inside in the old/walled town. The common rooms, and our bedroom, were beautifully done and kept spotlessly clean. The breakfast menu offered a lot of variety and it all was nicely prepared. There were some thoughtful touches, like bottles of water, snacks, and a parking permit (although we ended up being able to park for free at a nearby car park). Finally, Neil was extremely welcoming and helpful. We highly recommend it.

Very friendly, helpful and welcoming host. Immaculately clean hotel. Little extra touches in the room made the stay here so comfortable. Presentation and quality of breakfast was above and beyond my expectations. Great location and lovely quiet area. I would absolutely recommend this fabulous hotel.

Everything you’d want in a BnB and a top location to boot.

Fabulous location! We booked because it was close to the castle but didn’t realised it was also inside the medieval castle walls. Charming period exterior and interiors. Our host Neill was genuinely friendly and helped us with parking and luggage and things to see. There were lots of thoughtful inclusions like complementary chocolates and umbrellas to borrow. Breakfast featured full Welsh with delicious local produce and plenty of options. A little fridge was a great inclusion. Modern bathroom facilities and working Wifi. A great stay in a great base for exploring north Wales.

Perfectly positioned property run by warm friendly people.

Very welcoming hosts who couldn’t have been more helpful. Comfortable beds. Property is in the centre of old town and within minutes of several good restaurants.

Rooms and sitting room had a musty smell. Slightly stuffy rooms.For the price, nice bread (as on the 3rd morning) would be expected.

A fabulous stay.

Honestly cannot think of a single fault with this place. The location was perfect, the staff super friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. Our room was spacious and clean with a lovely view.

Location was perfect, right at the heart of the town. Hotel was spotless and so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and so much choice. We were given so much advice as the what to see and where to eat. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Warm welcome, spotlessly clean and great location for the Welsh Mountain Railway

Four of us stayed in order to go on the Welsh Mountain Railway. The Caer Menai was a 6 minute walk from the station, which was perfect. Help was given with parking, the rooms were very clean with everything you could have needed. Great little extras like a fridge with water and fresh milk, charging points in abundance, glasses and a corkscrew! The breakfast was very good and the owners were charming and very helpful. A great place to stay.

The only thing that could be improved was that the eggs on toast came on dry toast with no butter ( although it was available to butter your own). Maybe a combination such as beans and egg or smashed avocado would have just raised the bar a little?

Best accommodation during our Wales tour

Great Place to stay. The best so far during our Wales trip. Cozy room and common areas. Nice to have a living room to seat in the evening. Parking permit included. Great breakfast. Very friendly and helpful host, who gave us lots of hints for eating and touring. Thanks so much!

Perfect spot for a stay in caernarfon

The Owners were lovely. The house decor was lovely aswell. We had the smaller room booked, which turned out to be a decent size for two people with hand luggage cases. The house is situated a short walk from the castle and an array of restaurants and cocktail/bar venues. Also the Breakfast was great. Parking on the street can be hit and miss, but with the map provided, we made our way to the qauy for free/unrestricted parking.

We enjoyed Caernarfon but in our opinion this property is not worthy of a 9+ rating, more like 6.5

The property is in a good central location although parking in the street has its difficulties, especially during summertime. However the hosts did provide a pass to enable us to park in certain car parks close by. Breakfast was good.

Disappointing room which had too much furniture such that my wife banged her knee on the wooden bed frame and her arm on the tall chest of drawers to access the bathroom. This only had a folding door which you could not secure from within the bathroom. Wash basin did not hold water and required a replacaement plug and the basin itself was chipped and cracked. The shower head flopped forward as a replacement riser was required. consequently you had to hold the shower by hand. The TV came on a couple of times during the night waking us up. It was explained to the host that it was probably responding to the handset in an adjacent room. His response was that a previous guest must have set a timer in the menu although we dispute this as it only happened once on the first 2 evenings and then twice during the 3rd night of our stay waking us up so we took the plug out. The door to our room, in keeping with the style of the property, was old and difficult to lock/unlock. Breakfast was not available before 8am which was a minor inconvenience for us.
