Medieval cozy vibes

The place is stunning! The decoration carefully planned to give that ancient cozy vibe. The room is spacious and the shower even had a sauna-like function. Véronique and her husband were super attentive and catered for our every need. Our little dog Amélie was welcomed and treated as a special guest 🥰.

This place is a true medieval castle.

Our booking included private parking and our own patio, and we were completely alone in the hotel, which made the experience even more special. The room and its surroundings were very spacious, with authentic historic interiors — you can’t help but look around and admire the details. Everything feels old in the best possible way, full of character and history. We felt incredibly cozy and comfortable here. We would love to come back in summer, when everything is green and in bloom.

A delightful stay

It is fascinating historical site, part of which was a public bath in the 12th century (the proprietor very kindly showed us the space). Our room was spacious and comfortable with lots of pretty details. Only one of the windows opened, but that provided enough fresh air for us in December. The owners are charming. Breakfast in a lovely stone upper hall was delicious. The property is brilliantly situated for exploring the upper and lower town, and we loved wandering to and fro.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful hotel in a charming and historically significant town.

The property is well located, distinctive in its historical architecture, and beautifully maintained. The “vibe” is very relaxing. Our room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and very comfortable. Great breakfast! Provins is a lovely medieval town, very walkable. Hosts Véronique and Olivier are so welcoming and so helpful. Véronique explained the layout of the city and suggested what to see and when. We happily followed her suggestions and had a great time!! She also helped us with dinner reservations and a special dessert request. Olivier took us to/from the train station because we were unable to find a taxi or Uber. Hope to return! Merci mille fois!!!

Amazing!

The property is more beautiful than the photos. The owners were so kind and helpful. Since we had an early flight, they did breakfast early, somehow convincing the bakery to provide before they opened. And the bread was so good! The rooms were comfortable, the showers very nice, lots of features. Decor wonderful. Highlight of our trip.

Historic and charming hotel in Medieval Provins.

We loved everything about this charming hotel. The owners are lovely people and very helpful and kind. The atmosphere and ambiance are exceptional. We are so happy that we were able to stay here for two nights. We would definitely stay here again!

What a spectacular and magnificent gîte!

What a spectacular and magnificent gîte! A collection of beautiful 12 & 18th Century with the most amazing courtyard and gardens. The room decorated in keeping with the building we felt like royalty. Bathroom managed to be functional and period at the same time. Breakfast was delicious and there was safe parking for the motorcycles. Loved it!

A lovely, central location with beautiful facilities that are comfortable and historic.

The room was beautiful with a patio. The bed was very comfortable and the towels and bathrobes were thick and fluffy. The entire property was exquisitely landscaped. The croissants at breakfast were excellent.

The whole place is magical. So much history and character. Breakfast was fantastic and the hosts were super helpful. It was in a great location close to old and new town. Parking was very easy and secure. Hosts were wonderful.

Exceptional property with historical charm.

This is an amazing, historic property. Everything had character and charm, and there was even an opportunity to play billard! Breakfast was good quality and not as limited as most French B&Bs. On site parking behind gates locked at night was also a bonus

A Rare Gem in fabulous Medieval Village

Demeure des Vieux Bains ticked every box with a gold stamp. Location easy walk to restaurants and historical sights. , A superb walled gardens, gorgeous outdoor seating around a fountain of waterlilies Birds twittered . Drinks available on site. Large lovely comfortable room. In 11th century building. Secure parking We loved every minute of our stay. Our hosts thought of everything possible to make our stay perfect. Thank you Veronique and Olivier for your warm hospitality.

HIGHLY recommend this stay in this interesting town!

Incredible property in the Medieval town of Provins, we were completely enchanted. Our huge room had THE most cloud-like comforter we’ve ever experienced, and the shower was an adventure! And so powerful. The hosts are extremely helpful and nice, going above and beyond to help us. We highly recommend!!

Wonderful, traditional accommodation with fabulous courtyard and wonderfully maintained grounds.

Beautiful well appointed suite full of character and very comfortable. Fabulous shower and large bathroom. Breakfast was delicious with fresh bread every morning, fruit, ham, cheese, yoghurt, cereals and a variety of jams. Fresh tea and coffee.

Probably our fault however we were travelling with my sister and thought from the photo's that we would have a separate living room and a second double bedroom, you walk straight into main bedroom with sofa, chairs etc, but second very small bedroom (really only suitable for child) is off main bedroom, this We were offered another room but the property was full to capacity for our third night so we decided to stay put. If we stay again we now know what rooms we would need to ask for.

Great disappointment

Place near center

It was not a buffet breakfast as it was supposed to be - no cheese and no ham. Entrance to the room is by the bathroom! Shower super small even for a petite size like me. No concordance with the photos shown at the internet site

an excellent stay in a wonderful location

The hotel is housed in an impressive medieval building very close to the historic centre of Provins with everything within walking distance. Our hosts Veronique and her husband could not have been more helpful. The room was very large and comfortable merging elegantly period rooms with very modern plumbing! Our host is also a chef and offers an excellent dinner option in the evening but requiring to be booked in advance if travelling and at breakfast on the day if staying more than one night - they helpfully email before hand to let you know the menu if you are on the road. Would highly recommend. There are lovely gardens where guests can sit out but the September weather made this not an option for us!

Like stepping back in history in style

The hotel was 'unexpected' to say the least. It is in a historic building. Our bedroom reminded us of a noble person's bedchamber circa 1700 - large and reminiscent of a castle. The breakfast had a terrace overlooking the courtyard. Olivier and Veronique were amazingly hospitable and friendly and made us feel at home immediately. The hotel is situated in easy walking distance to some of the most significant historic sites in the town. Overall - just great!

At our age, the stone winding stairs (period specific) to the 2nd floor - which mirrored those in other building in town - were a little bit of a challenge. Wouldn't recommend for anyone overweight or out of shape. Otherwise, not a problem.

Terrific!

Beautiful and historic chateau and grounds in a medieval village. It’s been nicely restored. Rooms are comfortable. There is secured parking within the chateau walls. Olivier also cooks a wonderful meal!

The pillows were thin for my liking….but that’s a personal thing.

Charming stay with outstanding hosts

Where do I start??? Location, location, location...and that was just the beginning...you can pretty much walk everywhere from this property and there was ample on-site parking. Not to mention that you are an hour away from the airport! The room we stayed in was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The buildings, outside terraces & gardens are spectacular and it is easy to recognize that Veronique and Olivier have invested a lot of time and love into it. Their attention to detail is outstanding right from the charming, medieval decor to the rose jelly that is served daily with breakfast. Veronique and Olivier are remarkable hosts, helpful and kind. I will never forget Olivier running out to meet us at our car with an umbrella or Veronique filling up my thermal mug up with coffee. My only regret is that we were unable to have dinner there.

The wifi didn't reach our room properly...it wasn't a deal breaker but it would've been useful.

The historic and beautifully decorated 18th and 12th century grand home is a gift to visit in quaint Provins. The gardens are peaceful after a long drive

Would have liked to stay longer than a quick overnight and dinner. Would have planned time to read in the garden. We did take time to explore the ramparts and 'up' town. The estate is a beautiful, historic building. It exceeded expectations as a place to stay overnight. Thank you

A fantastic surprise - stay here if you can!

This place is simply beautiful! Our room was lovely and the bathroom was a delight with the stone walls. While our room did not have a fridge they let us put our wine in the kitchen fridge which we then were able to access when needed so that worked out just fine.

It was a little off the beaten path but it was in no way really out of the way since we were able to walk to dinner and look around the area.
