Came here for Spring break with our 2 boys (7, 9). Property is unbelievably beautiful and the house was very cozy and had everything we needed. We spent time exploring the property and walking down to the beach. Too cold to swim, but skipped rocks and searched for fossils. Hot tub was wonderful on chilly evenings and the stars were out of this world.Things we did:Marengo cave was 10 minutes from the house - we did both cave tours (on separate days) and boys did all the fun extra activities there. Ate at Vans Country Table nearby and decided that was the best meal of the vacation!Drove about 30 minutes to The Overlook restaurant for lunch and enjoyed the views and food was great. Boys liked running around on the big deck and putting quarters into the binoculars.Drove into Louisville (45 minutes) to do Louisville Slugger Museum and a bourbon tour. Walked across pedestrian bridge and played at Adventure Playground nearby. On the way home stopped at Rec Bar for dinner and retro video games.Boys enjoyed helping collect eggs and feed chickens. Host was wonderful and very accommodating if anything came up that we needed. Despite hosts house being nearby, you can not see it at all from the farm house so you truly felt like you were there alone. House does have Direct TV, which was nice for the kids to wind down in the evening. No internet, but we had 5G on our phones.

The property and home are absolutely beautiful!! Hiking trails lead back to a river, very peaceful and calm location. A few things to note: Property managers were present to mow the property, while we were in the hot tub and one day to harvest lavender. The hot tub didn't work well, there was a constant error on the control panel. Which was fine because it wasn't very clean and the water was a little slimy so we didn't stay in long. The beds are not very comfortable. Hiking trail that leads to the river, described to us as a "small hill". I know everyone's perception is different but this was not a small hill!! It was a very angled decline with metal posts spaced just enough apart from the trees and rocks to guide you down and up again. We did it, it was beautiful!! Just wanted to give a different perspective of the "small hill" for those who may have challenges with mobility and age groups. Overall we had a fantastic time!! It was quite and peaceful, shared lots of laughs and created new memories. Thank you for the hospitality.
