Friendly staff and very unique experience.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were concerned that we might miss check-in and they made arrangements for us in case we arrived late. Staff was so friendly.

Cabins were older with older furnishings but we didn't really expect different as it is a cabin. They had a smart tv in the living room which was an unexpected bonus.

Overall, I wish it would’ve been cleaner but it was fine for the night.

The one employee (dark headed) was super helpful. She was so nice and went above and beyond to help me find a different cabin that fit our unexpected guests.

The place wasn’t very clean and the employees (besides one) were very rude to us about having to switch cabins.

The wi-fi is horrible. Can barely get a connection to watch tv. There were not enough towels for 4 people to take a shower. The price of 300.00 for a 1 night stay was ridiculous.

Cozy but awkward.

perfect location to stay at for our safari the next day. Clean. cozy.

When we arrived, we were told the cabin we originally booked was not available. However they did give us a different cabin that was a bit of an upgrade. Fine. When we got to the cabin, there was staff still in it cleaning. This made it very awkward to get in and settled. We left for the evening for dinner and a little night on the town and when we got back, we discovered the key they gave us didn’t work for the lock. We were stranded outside of our cabin for nearly an hour with two panicked kids while they found staff to come with another key to unlock it. The check out rules were a little much in my opinion. $10 if you leave a dirty dish. You also had to take your own trash to their dumpster.

the Wilson carriage house was the downstairs studio and we loved that it backed right up to the woods, the snow had just fallen and it was beautiful! We didn’t use the fire pit but liked that there was one as well as a grill and chairs and an awning available to use. It was very clean and comfortable and the small kitchen was fully stocked! We did the drive thru safari a few times and since it was cold we went in the barn (included in the safari) and fed the giraffes and birds and just ask about the other animals and they were so happy to tell us more and we got to hold the cockroaches they feed the iguana! It was so fun for our five year old and the adults!

I bought through booking.com and it was a little expensive $254 per night but very clean and stocked and comfortable.

Very disappointing and not as advertised.

It was quiet and that was about all we liked about it.

We booked this cabin based on the pictures on booking .com. We thought that we were getting the cabin the picture showed. We did not. We were given a cabin that was on a steep incline. The youngest one in the group is 68 and she fell trying to get up the hill and hurt her hip and knee after tripping on a tree root. She is sore but okay. When we got there right at 4PM (listed check in time), there was someone in the cabin cleaning and we had to wait 15 minutes for her to finish. When we got inside, the cabin was not the cabin we saw in the picture online. The bathroom wall and woodwork were very dirty. The pictures showed a jacuzzi tub, and our tub was a regular tub. We paid for the cabin totally based on the pictures and we feel that we were deceived. We won't stay there again.

When I spoke to the staff about the issues they owned it and genuinely seemed concerned and willing to do better. We did not do the drive through zoo so we can't comment on that. Liked the setting.

Dirty sheets were on the pull out and no clean ones were available. There was alot of deferred maintenance (plaster coming off the ceiling in 2 rooms due to obvious roof leaks. Toilets were very sluggish. No internet. The staff said they just changed providers and they promised that all cabins would have access. Advertised as an eight person occupancy. There were 5 of us and the space was still very tight.

Great short family Vacation at the Wilstem!

The cabin was great! We will travel to French Lick again and stay at Wilstem, my grandson was just 4 months old and can't wait till he gets big enough to really enjoy the animals. Wilstem is a great family vacation or would be just a relaxing vacation for an older couple.

The cabin was very comfortable, it was quiet, secluded and nicely maintained. The location is less than 10 minutes to French Lick and 20 minutes from Patoka lake...so much to do plus the safari was so much fun!

A few things in our cabin didn't work like the ice maker and fireplace but they were pretty inconsequential.

We loved the quiet of the cabin and it had a beautiful layout.

The cabin had not been thourougly cleaned. There were dead bugs around the end tables and and lots of dust and dust balls around. I took my socks off and they were black.
