Owner was very friendly and lovely to speak with. Shower was strong. Location to Higashi-chaya is very convenient.
Booked the small japanese style room and it wasn't clear to me during booking that there was no window to the outside. It was just a partition with sliding doors off the main public area, with no lock, so when the lights were on in the main space in the evening it completely lit up my room (until midnight!) since there was no privacy curtain.

Good location, great price
There were no curtains on the opaque windows in the women’s dorm. This wasn’t a privacy issue, but it meant that the room was really light at night. My bed was against a window and a light from outside the building was shining in my face all night. The top bunk was awkward and difficult to get into, and there were no power outlets near the beds
