Le cottage est très chaleureux et le James le propriétaire est adorable. Les équipements sont au top. On avait oublié notre adaptateur pour les prises et le logement en était équipé. Malgré une tempête et une coupure d'électricité James s'est démené pour qu'on ne manque de rien. Merci 🙏

The cottage is in a beautiful location within view of Lough Derg. A short stroll down the lane brings you to the edge of the lake with a view of Holy Island. Mountshannon village is just a mile or so away which has shops, bars and a lovely restaurant with a take-away service. From Mountshannon harbour, we took a boat trip to Holy Island where we were able to tour the ancient site with its famous round tower and monastic buildings dating from the time of Brian Boru (1000AD). The island is very well maintained for access and a stunningly beautiful location, as is the area generally.
The heating was adequate, although at times the cottage felt a little chilly. There is an open fire, and it was a nice touch to be provided with a small basket of firewood and a lit fire on the first night. However, it would have been nice to have access to a small stock of extra firewood / briquettes in order to be able to continue to 'cosy' the place in the evenings.
Also, being self-catering, we found a good assortment of cooking pans, etc. but it would have been nice to have at least one large cooking spoon for cooking/serving.
