Kent Hotel Gwangalli by Kensington

Ideal olace for droneshow. In the heart of Gwangalli beach. Not convenient for public transports but Uber can fix it. So many good restaurants around. Very crowded and fun at night comparable to other neigborhoods of Busan. Hotel is fine and acceptable.

The hotel is located right in front of the sea, which offered a beautiful view. I was also very pleased with the staff at the front desk, who were extremely helpful. The food at the hotel was also good. However, the cleanliness of the room was disappointing. I explicitly requested room cleaning, but it was not done properly which was poorly made. While the service and dining were great, the housekeeping definitely needs improvement.

Unfortunately, after staying for our first night, we have made the difficult decision to check out early and give up the remaining three nights of our reservation, as the condition of the room has fallen significantly short of what we expected based on the hotel’s listing and photographs. From check-in, we encountered several issues that made our stay very uncomfortable. The room was dusty and did not feel properly cleaned, and there was a strong lingering smell of cigarette smoke as well as a damp, improperly dried towel smell. Basic amenities such as shampoo and body wash were also not provided, and we had to specifically request them from the hotel. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable, and despite these issues, we genuinely tried to give the hotel a chance and stayed for the first night rather than immediately requesting to leave. Unfortunately, we subsequently experienced an additional persistent leakage/dripping sound from the air-conditioning system, which made it very difficult to rest. At this point, we no longer feel comfortable continuing our stay and have decided to move to another hotel for the remaining three nights. We understand that our original reservation may be subject to cancellation terms. However, given the multiple cleanliness, odour, amenity and maintenance issues we experienced, we sincerely hope the hotel can review our circumstances as an exception and refund the three unused nights. We are not requesting a refund for the first night that we stayed. We believe refunding the unused portion would be a fair resolution considering that we made a genuine attempt to stay despite the initial issues, but ultimately found the room conditions unsuitable for the remainder of our trip. If a full refund of the remaining three nights is not possible, we would appreciate management considering a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill. We would be grateful if this could be escalated to the hotel manager for review. We are also able to provide photographs/videos documenting the room conditions and air-conditioning issue if required. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope the hotel can assist us with a fair resolution.

The hotel was a little dated and well-loved, which is to be expected in a busy beach town. We did not interact with staff besides check-in, which was oddly on the 15th floor. The room was not very clean, and the layout was really odd/difficult, but you can’t beat the location and view!
