Casa do Osorio

I stayed at Casa de Osório for four nights, and it became one of the most memorable parts of my trip to Brazil. Casa de Osório is a simple and peaceful pousada surrounded by beautiful nature in the mountains. It is not a luxury hotel, and the road to get there can be a little challenging, but that is also part of its charm. My room was very clean and comfortable, with a warm bed, hot shower, and fireplace—everything I needed after spending the day exploring the mountains and waterfalls. The homemade Brazilian food prepared by Edinaldo’s wife was also delicious. But what makes Casa de Osório truly special is not the room or the scenery. It is the hospitality of Edinaldo and his family. From the beginning, they welcomed me with genuine warmth and kindness. Edinaldo took me to beautiful places around Visconde de Mauá that are popular with local people, including some wonderful hiking and nature spots. We did not speak each other’s language, so we communicated mostly through a translation app. Sometimes the translation worked and sometimes it didn’t, but somehow we always understood each other—and there was always friendship behind the conversation. Their kindness continued until the very end of my stay. On my departure, they made sure everything was well organized and that I left comfortably and safely, and they even checked afterwards to see if I had arrived okay. Beautiful mountains, waterfalls and scenery can sometimes meet your expectations and sometimes exceed them. But the kindness and friendship you receive from people can make a journey truly unforgettable. That is exactly how I feel about Casa de Osório. I arrived as a guest, but I left feeling that I had stayed at the home of friends. Thank you, Edinaldo and your family, for taking such wonderful care of me and for the friendship. If I have the opportunity to return to Visconde de Mauá one day, Casa de Osório will definitely be my home there again.

Honestly, there was nothing I disliked. Casa de Osório was exactly the kind of place I was looking for—simple, peaceful, surrounded by nature, and full of warmth and genuine hospitality. I have nothing to complain about.

O afastamento da cidade e a aproximação com as montanhas são muito interessantes, O café da manhã é feito com muito carinho, O silêncio do local faz com que você se conecte com o ambiente, O passeio pelas trilhas da proximidade são incríveis.

Devido ser um local bem afastado, a pista não é legal para chegar na parte da noite, mais com cuidado e bem devagar vai chegar com segurança.

Fomos muito bem recebidos. A casa é bem limpa, aconchegante e conta com uma lareira e uma banheira para relaxar. Chuveiro quente. O café da manhã bem servido para 2 pessoas além ser muito saboroso. A estrada de acesso é de terra só ter cuidado em dias de chuva. São 4.5km (20min de carro) do centrinho. É perto da Cachoeira Santa Clara (1.5km) caso queira ir andando é +/- 25min. A VIVO e a TIM não funcionaram lá. Utilizamos o wifi da casa que funcionou direitinho. Combinamos de voltar outras vezes! :)

Café da manhã e jantar, maravilhosos. O chalé é lindo, aconchegante, a lareira funciona muito bem. Tem muitas toalhas e vários cobertores extras. Tem geladeira funcionando perfeitamente. A hidromassagem e chuveiros com água quentinhas. Cama confortável e com roupa de cama limpa e cheirosa. A pousada tem uma vista deslumbrante da Serra da Bocaina e o barulho do rio é extremamente relaxante. A estrada é íngrime, de terra e estreita em alguns pontos, mas é tranquila. Nada que atrapalhe. Os donos são muito atenciosos e educados. Foi um fim de semana perfeito
