About this villa rental

Villa Casciano is a beautiful, newly restored villa offering very spacious accommodation and quality furniture and fittings. The house is south facing and very private but within walking distance of a lovely medieval hilltop village. The house has magnificent views, lovely gardens, patio and a private heated pool (10 x 5 metres). Accommodation is situated on all three floors of the property. The house boasts original old beams and doors, brickwork, wrought iron and cotto floors and ceilings. The house has a large open plan kitchen and dining room, snug, further sitting room, 6 large bedrooms with new beds and linen, double height ceilings and panoramic views. There are four bathrooms and each of these are newly fitted with quality Italian sanitary ware, tiles and taps.

There is an outdoor eating area with lovely views, covered by a pergola and a large second terrace and seating area, with panoramic views of the countryside. The house has a large, flat, secluded garden with grass all around it and a large private car park that takes up to 6 cars. The swimming pool can be viewed from the kitchen windows and doors, making it safe for children. The house is accessed via its own private, newly built gravel drive.

The house includes a large, serene garden room overlooking the pool and garden, perfect for relaxing on a hot day or for a party in the evening. The garden room can double as a perfect yoga studio for 8+ students if so desired.

Skiing or mountain walks: Skiing is available in the nearby Sibillini mountains, 40 minutes drive from the villa. Local ski resorts with child and adult ski lifts and apres ski facilities are available. In summer, the mountains offer stunning walks through streams, flora and fauna.

Beaches and water sports: Several typical Italian beach resorts are within 30+ minutes drive from the villa. These offer lovely shops, bars and restaurants. Some have been awarded blue flag status for cleanliness. The uncrowded sandy beaches are well-managed and a small charge is made for sunbeds, etc. Watersports, diving, etc are available in many resorts. An impressive water park is within 30 minutes drive.

Restaurants: There are many superb restaurants in the area, from inexpensive to those for a special occasion. All food and wine is typical of the region and the service is excellent.

There are also several vineyards nearby that organise inexpensive wine and food tasting events for families and small groups and where excellent local wines can be purchased for discount prices.

Macerata, a historic university city is within 15 minutes drive. Voted in the top six best places to live in Italy, Macerata boasts many restaurants, bars, trendy shops, historic buildings, museums and galleries. It also has a bustling weekly street market.

There are also many hilltop towns and villages to visit within 5 miles of the house, all with beautiful old buildings and picturesque village squares with coffee shops, gelateria, bars, restaurants and weekly markets.

A few examples of restaurants and trattoria within 5 miles of the villa:

As a group of friends travelling with kids, we loved our stay here. The villa is a generous size, the views are beautiful and the pool was great. It's an old property with a lot of character, located in a peaceful rural area. You can tell that the renovation of this place is an ongoing labour of love. The massive kitchen/dining area has been finished to a really high standard. It's where we spent most of our time when not in the pool/garden. A couple of the bedrooms are still a little more rustic, but personally I quite liked that. I wasn't expecting a pristine hotel suite. The surrounding area isn't particularly known for tourism, so the pretty hill-top towns and villages nearby were rather sleepy, but still very welcoming. The local Abbey is also a pleasant place to go for a walk. And they have amazing ice cream and a lovely bar/café for evening drinks. There's also a local produce shop which was great for buying fresh fruit, vegetables, wine etc. Both the owner and local property manager of the villa were very helpful and responsive throughout booking process and during our stay. Would highly recommend!

We were a group of three older women looking for a clean comfortable rental to use as home base as we explored the region. The house was idyllic, overlooking hills of sunflowers and flax. It was beautiful, serene and each evening we had a glass of wine and enjoyed the view. The pool was essential as there was a heat wave during our stay and it cooled us down every evening. The house is situated to visit caves, the coast and several interesting small towns. The house itself was as described, simple but very comfortable and clean. The house manager was responsive and helpful.

Villa Casciano is a superb property, expertly designed and maintained (a big well done to Brian for the restoration and to Andy, the friendly property manager!). We loved the house itself which perfectly suited our party of 11 guests. There are lots of lovely places to sit around the house but the heart is the huge kitchen and dining area (which includes yet another sitting area) which made meal preparation so much more pleasant than the usual quite small facilities which we have found in the past with other villas (even otherwise large ones). We also loved having the stunning pool area just beside the house (no toddlers to be concerned about in our party as they have all grown up!) which made it easy to go in and out for books, sunglasses etc (all the things you forget to bring and then have to trek back for if the pool is more distant). The views from the pool and around the villa were endlessly rewarding (again, plenty of sitting areas in the large garden area surrounding). The nearby village of Petriolo is a little gem and we particularly enjoyed the Bar Centrale which never seems to close so that you can enjoy an early morning cappucino and also a late night drink or gelato from its panoramic terrace. Just a little further away is Mogliano, which also has a useful kiosk from which you can fill up water bottles with spring water (either still or gassata). Further afield, we got to Macerata, Loreto, San Severino, Ascoli, even Castellucio and Lago di Fiastra. Excellent!

Bon séjour malgré un accès très difficile Route de petriolo fermée et accès maison impossible car il y avait eu des pluies la semaine d' avant... En vélo très dur aussi nous avons poussé nos vélos sur 2kms de piste très raide...
