Thatch is a bright house, spacious and comfortable built in 2014. It has 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 large living spaces of over 50 m2. Thatch has an area of ​​8000 m2 and is very quiet. Thatch is located in the charming village of Chapaize in the heart of Romanesque Burgundy. Very close to Tournus, Cluny, Cormatin, Brancion and near Macon, Beaune, the greenway and all the wine route.

We stayed here as a group of friends, who are all members of a choir during a choral tour of Burgundy. As a group of individuals, rather than families, the property layout was perfect for us, with mainly twin rooms and separate bathrooms. The facilities are perfect. Plenty of parking, a large kitchen, spacious living areas, and, as a choir, we particularly liked having a piano for rehearsing! The rooms were modern, clean, functional, and well proportioned. The 'attic' room, benefits from its own toilet and shower, which was a huge benefit to us as a large group. My only comment on this room (as I was staying up there) was that it was noticeably hotter than the other rooms, by virtue of it being up in the roof space, but having a private en suite was nice! Perhaps some photos of the additional room could be put on the website, as it was not entirely clear from the listing what the room was like. I loved it, but others might find the steep stairs a struggle. All in all, it was a lovely property. Access is via a coded key box, thus enabling us all to be independent during the day without worrying who has the key. Cormatin is only a 5 min drive away, with adequate restaurants, shops, and the obligatory boulangeries. Chapaize itself has a couple of small restaurants, and of course the church where we performed a concert on one night of our tour. I would heartily recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

We have just spent a very enjoyable week in this lovely roomy house. Furnished in a delightful eclectic mix of styles, blending traditional and modern wonderfully well. Chapiaze, delivered as promised a relaxed holiday in a beautiful tranquil setting, all of which can be enjoyed from the magnificent views within the house. Surrounded by charming villages and places of interest and lots of countryside walks. We have thoroughly enjoyed our week here made all the better by the perfect sunshine.
