As we arrived we have been welcomed by the owner, who already gave us very useful tips on activities, where to eat, shopping, and similar information beforehand.
We enjoyed living in this house with its beautiful surrounding garden, which once served as a vineyard ("La Vigna"). Cities like Viareggio, Lucca or Pisa are in reach, and Camaiore itself already invites to strolls in the evening to explore tiny shops and restaurants. It also doesn't take long to a free beach in Viareggio (spiagga della lecciona) to get refreshed and swim against the waves.
A truely recommendable place at the Versilia coast :)

The house and the property is just great. It is a very charming rustic old house and the property has beautiful views of the mountains. The host Marco is friendly, knowledgeable and happy to give great recommendations for the area.
We stayed with a family of 5 with kids aged 9, 11 and 15 and we all had a fabulous time. There is table tennis and a soccer goal for the kids; also just tons of space outside for everyone to find his very own spot. Very quiet setting and about 15 minutes walk to Camaiores restaurants and shops.
Internet / WiFi is not reliable and not suitable for streaming, but that's not what we were looking for so it did not bother us. Also families should be aware that the house is not suitable for toddlers as there is an open staircase inside and some sudden drops / large steps in the landscaping outside.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend this property.

The Perfect Retreat
It's always a bit of a gamble when you book a property as to whether it will be what you hope for and whether it will be as described.
This lovely rustic cottage was everything we had hoped for with its large private garden, quiet woodland surroundings and magnificent views of the mountains. If we had wanted to, we could have simply chilled out all week and been very happy.
However, with the help and advice of the charming host Emilio, we decided to explore the surrounding countryside. Camaiore is a charming and lively village 10 minutes walk away, great for a coffee and pastry or a pizza. Lucca is a 30 minute drive through lovely countryside, a must see. There are other beautiful areas within easy reach which we visited, cinque Terra, Castelnuevo with its market, (the drive up the River Serchio valley is stunning) . Or if you prefer something more lively, Viareggio is a 15 minute drive away.
We did all this and still found time to sit in the garden drinking local wine and eating local cheeses and meats.
If you are lucky, as darkness falls you will see fireflies dancing around in the garden and a variety of birds and butterflies from the comfort of your sun lounger.
Emilio is the perfect host and a lovely man.
This was a place we shall definitely return to

wir hatten eine phantastische Zeit. Emilio und Marco sind herzliche und wunderbare Gastgeber, die uns herzlich empfangen haben und jede Menge toller Tips für Ausflüge gaben. Das Haus ist wunderbar, auch an heissen Tagen halten die dicken Mauern die Temperatur angenehm. Der Garten ist ein absolutes Idyll, wir haben stundenlang auf der Veranada gesessen, gespielt oder einfach den Vögeln gelauscht und uns die herrlichen Hügel angeschaut und dabei gechillt. Wir werden diese Unterkunft unseren Freunden wärmstens empfehlen.

In diesem toskanischen Landhaus ,gelegen in einem Olivengarten mit einigen Weinstöcken, ist alles vorhanden was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub vom Alltag braucht. Wir haben hier eine Woche lang die umliegenden Berge bewandert, Sand- und Steinstrände besucht, verschiedene mittelalterliche Städte und Dörfer mit ihren Sehenswürdigkeiten bewundert und vor allen Dingen das Mittelmeer und das schöne Wetter genossen. Von den Bergen hat man eine fantastische Aussicht auf das Meer und die davor liegenden Ortschaften. Abends haben wir den Tag auf der überdachten Terasse mit toskanischem Rotwein und Produkten aus der Gegend (frisches Bauernbrot, Salami, Schinken und Käse), zum Gesang der Grillen ausklingen lassen. Emilio ist ein sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Hausbesitzer und kann viele Tipps für Tagesausflüge geben . Unsere Woche in der Toscana war einfach nur fantastisch und wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen . Vielen Dank an Emilio und Sohn Marco.

Wer Ruhe und Natur sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Das typisch toskanische Landhaus ist etwas abseits von Camaiore gelegen und bietet eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf die umliegenden Berge. In dem großen Garten kann man unter Olivenbäumen, blühendem Oleander umgeben von Weinstöcken wunderbar entspannen und sich von Ausflügen nach Pisa, Florenz, Siena und anderen unzähligen Sehenswürdigkeiten erholen. Das Haus ist einfach gehalten, aber es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Mit dem Auto sind die freien, kostenlosen Strände im Süden von Viareggio leicht in zwanzig Minuten zu erreichen. Im Dorf bekommt man alles, was für den täglichen Bedarf nötig ist.
Emilio ist ein wunderbarer, sehr netter Gastgeber, stets hilfsbereit und zur Stelle, falls man ihn braucht. Unseren herzlichen Dank dafür und für zwei tolle Ferienwochen, die wir mit unseren Kindern sehr genossen haben.
Tipp: ausreichend Mückenschutz mitbringen, dann kann man laue Nächte ohne die lästigen Plagegeister genießen.

If you are looking for peace and nature, this is the right place for you. The typical Tuscan country house is situated a little away from Camaiore and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. In the large garden you can relax under olive trees, blossoming oleander surrounded by vines and relax from excursions to Pisa, Florence, Siena and other countless sights. The house is kept simple, but there is everything you need. The free beaches in the south of Viareggio can be easily reached by car in twenty minutes. In the village you get everything you need for your daily needs.
Emilio is a wonderful, very nice host, always ready to help and on the spot if you need him. Thank you very much for this and for two great holiday weeks, which we enjoyed very much with our children.
Tip: bring enough mosquito repellent, then you can enjoy warm nights without the annoying pests.

We had a great time in La Vigna. A nice house with a big and nice garden, inside everything you need. The house is in very quiet neighborhood and with unencumbered view until the montains. The landlord was always near in order to answer questions. We thank him for the nice welcome and all the hints. We could do a lot of walking-tours around and enjoyed the small but nice city Camaiore nearby with everything you need, including a wonderfull market.

sono onorato di essere il primo a recensire questa casa!premetto che ho dato 4 stelle perche'il proprietario mi ha detto che deve fare delle migliorie,quindi la quinta stella arriverà la prossima volta.si,perchè io e la mia famiglia sicuramente torneremo.la casa è fantastica,un bel rustico dove non manca nulla,immerso nel verde e abbracciato tra le montagne.il mare dista solo 9 km o, per chi lo preferisce,15 minuti di auto.forse l'unica pecca è la strada per arrivarci(un tantino stretta)ma emilio,il proprietario,non può farci nulla.luogo ideale per stare tranquilli corredato di ampio giardino per far giocare i bambini.il mattino ci si sveglia con il cinguettio degli uccelli e si và a dormire con il suono dei grilli.una favola.ho concluso e il mio consiglio è:ANDATECI!!!!!!
