Charming and comfy

Communication was excellent prior to arrival with quick responses to our questions. The room is charming with lovely views over the harbour. The bed is super comfy and the facilities very good. We found no problems parking as there are lots of free spaces available in the town of Barfleur. Breakfast was hosted an the Cafe de France next door and was good.

It would been nice to actually meet our host it is always the first impression of a place and a great means to find out local information.

Lovely location. Room could be improved.

Great location facing the harbour. Very comfortable bed. Nicely furnished room. Plenty of hot water. Self check-in was fine. Parked right outside. The wifi was just about ok.

No blinds on the large first floor picture window overlooking the street outside so we had to either have the curtains closed or get dressed in the bathroom. The large bathroom window didn’t have any covering apart from some wicker arrangement and it was possible to see into the room from below. Shower wasn’t fixed on the wall so we had to hold it over our heads to shower.

Breakfast could have been provided. The cafe next door only offered small pastries and a drink. Poor really considering there was no welcome and a small room when considering the cost.

Great location in Barfleur, beautiful view from bedroom window of the harbour. Plenty of parking near by. Plenty of restaurants minutes walk away.

Booked one apartment and one bedroom for our 2 night stay. Very basic accommodation, but it is clean. Disappointed that there was no handle on the bathroom door, no lampshade, just a bulb in the bedroom. Walls could do with a paint. Hooks on bathroom door loose. My major complaint is with door locks. The bedroom.we booked the door lock was very weak and due to this slept with furniture moved over the door for security. At one point we got locked in room as lock so temperamental. Reported to owner in morning, who sent a nice member of staff ,but the issue remained the same. I was concerned however that the door to my apartment also opened the bedroom door and these would usually rented by guests from different family groups. Staying with children I am concerned someone else could get access to my room, I want door locks to be secure. Noise from local bar and church bells overnight,but manageable if window closed. We stayed in 4 different places during our French holiday, this was the most basic and no breakfast was included in the price. Not good value for money.Hopefully, this review will help future guests.

Great location, but could do with a little refurbishment to make it excellent.

Great location overlooking the harbour. Although we did not meet the owner, we had good communication via text. We had an apartment with outside terrace, which was spacious with garden furniture. Bed was very comfortable. Very clean throughout. Plenty of free parking outside the property.

No blind in the bathroom and no shower screen/curtain. In general, the bathroom seems to need a light refurbishment. Kitchen is large, but units are now a bit scruffy and probably need replacing. Although not the fault of the property, the nearby church bells ring throughout the night, with an extensive peal of bells at 7am (surely not necessary ?!)

Great place for stopover

Loverly room, ideal location, accommodating owners.

Prefer shower head on the wall rather than just having to hold it but the noise at 1:30 am from bar 2 doors away was so annoying.

A lovely guesthous in a lovely town.

Very nice guesthouse. Our room was very beautiful and comfy, overlooking the harbor. The town is absolutely beautiful and we felt instantly at home. Would like to come back a stay for a few days! Parking is right outside on the harbor, which is nice. The guest house is right next to a nice cafe/restaurant where we had an excellent dinner. It is also very close to the church, which we thought was very charming.

Would be nice to be able to hang up the shower head. The location next to the cafe meant a bit of noise until after midnight, but this might have been due to the fact that there was a festival in town. Didn't really bother us, but this is probably not the quietest spot to stay in Barfleur.

Wonderful view

Location is wonderful, with lovely view of the harbour. Room is great and there is free parking by the harbour. Restaurants are very close by.

My only complaint would be having to book out by 11.00, but I understand as the room has to be cleaned for the next people.

I didn't take breakfast but I loved the location and the size of the room.

The shower head needs fixing/replacing as it is leaking which means it is hard to get a full shower. I was also disappointed it was a hand held shower and not fixed to the wall. But this would not stop me staying there again.

perfect all round but some one needs to have a word with the church authorities to silence the bells

The location with a view over the port was wonderful, also we had an entirely private terrace at the back of the apartment where we could enjoy a glass of wine in the evening sunshine in complete peace and privacy

Our apartment was perfect in every way, but there was one drawback in that the church about 100 metres away rang it's bells every quarter hour, on every hour throughout the night and incredibly at 7:00 am the bell rang 1600 chimes!!!!! I was OK but my wife who has very good hearing didn't sleep at all

Picturesque harbour village with easy walking to all amenities.

This is in a lovely location overlooking the harbour. The apartment had a private patio area off the kitchen at the rear on the first floor, which had sun and shade throughout the day. Very comfortable bed with quality cotton covers. Nice bathroom products were supplied. The village is a rated French picturesque village and relatively small. There are a few good restaurants and bars within sight of the property.

While there was a shower, it was hand held and we had to kneel / sit to avoid watering the floor. We would have liked to have a shower curtain, so we could have a proper stand-up shower. Other than that, it worked, and everything else was great.

Lovely little apartment

Everything! View right on the harbour, very comfortable facilities. Beautiful surroundings. Plenty of choices for evening meal and breakfast if not cooking your own in the nice kitchen. Marie Laure was ill so couldn’t meet us in person but she arranged everything and was available to answer gestions by text and phone. We hope to return for longer next time. Thanks for a lovely stay.
