Good 6-course ryokan dinner from adjacent onsen. Nothing fancy like crab but includes fish and meat Satisfactory breakfast buffet with curry rice, cold egg cake, pickled vegs, miso soup with dehydrated condiments, plain yogurt. Excellent ofuro on top floor of adjacent building overlooking lake. Outdoor (rotenburo) option. Good location at east end of town at opposite end from main bus eki, but public stop nearby. Takes 1-2 hours to walk to or from rope tow to Usu-san. Hourly bus from JR station costs ¥340 pp.
No wifi, and front desk not staffed in morning. Old plain building but clean with windows that can open.
