A peaceful well-presented retreat within 5 mins walk of a lovely bay

Great setting, just up from beach. Comfy areas outside to eat and relax. Very well presented and actively cared for by owners each day. Yannis and Cecile couldn't do enough for us and were very friendly and helpful, especially re. ordering a taxi. Enjoyed the local olive oil, breakfast breads and homemade jam. Library to borrow from. Laundry facilities. We felt at home.

There was nothing we actually didn't like but we probably should have booked an apartment rather than the studio. This was very carefully designed with sufficient storage space, but we would have felt a bit less cramped with a smaller bed, and a table. As it was fine weather we could eat out and spend most of our time outside, so we managed happily. We wouldn't want to put anyone off from staying at this lovely place, run by such a hardworking couple.

A well managed apartment, Cécil and Yannis are super nice and caring hosts. The bed is very comfy compared to german/ west european standards. Apartment is well furnished and super clean. Beach is in walking distance.

Fantastic

The location close to the beachfront and restaurants. The owners were great hosts and make you feel at home and very welcome. Our small daughter of 3 could play with toys the owner provided and all efforts were done to make our stay comfortable. Even a small nightlamp to pit next to the bed of our daughter so she would feel safe at night. These people know exactly what good hospitality is about, we had an excellent holiday

An absolute Joy!

We were recommended Almyrida Sands by friends who stayed there previously, and what a find it was! Yannis, the owner sent us the code to the key box in good time, as we arrived in the early hours of the morning, so parking and getting into our room couldn't have been easier. Then he welcomed us warmly the day after and left (warm!) fresh bread and homemade jam for us. The apartment was absolutely beautiful; in immaculate condition, and tastefully decorated, with all facilities we could need. We enjoyed breakfast on our little terrace each day before walking down to the beach (ca 10mins) or going on adventures elsewhere on this amazing island.

Just one thing to watch out for - if you're following Google Maps, make sure you're going to the right place. We found Google tried to take us to the wrong place - inland by about 05kms and down a farm track - the first time we used it!

Stunning property. Spacious, beautifully furnished, views are incredible of mountains and sea. We spent mornings and evenings on the covered deck - an outside living room. The owners are friendly, attentive and so helpful. We stayed in Epsilon - 3 bedroom. The location is perfect for visiting Chania, Heraklion etc .

One of the best (or the best) location in Almyrida and close to Chania!

Yannis and Cecile created something truly special. The whole lot is super tidy and the appartment was phenomenal. We stayed eight nights in Omega and didnt want to leave. It was even better then on the pictures. Yannis and Cecile were all over the place to keep the rooms and the premise clean and super stylish. We liked it very much and we will come back. I have to say that it was one of the best accomodations we been to - it had a super vibe, location and hosts. We would recomend it to our close friends and family. In my opinion anybody can book it without thinking twice.

We stayed only for a short stay as 3 friends in Gama apartment! We were more out than in so we found the apartment perfect for us. Apartments are very cozy, we enjoyed the vibe, the terrace, the green garden. I like how everything is well kept. We used kitchen only for having breakfast, so we didn’t do any cooking but I would say it is well equipped. It has even a tiny dishwasher. Everything is maybe little smaller in this apartment so I don’t think I would enjoy cooking but some basic dishes would be no problem. We had moka pot or filtered coffee option for coffee which was appreciated. The owners were very nice, communication was fast and effective. We enjoyed that apartment is being cleaned every day and that there is parking on the premises. Location is great, 5 min walk to kind of city center where is beach, restaurants etc.

Just maybe to make sure that all amenities are replenished for new guests.

Fabulous little apartment

Yannis and Cecile have a beautiful property and have made a lovely set of villa and apartment accommodation. Location was perfect for quick walk to beach, shops & restaurants. We spent our last three nights in Crete here and wished we’d stayed longer. Really accessible to airport and other local surrounds.

Apsolut EVERYTHING 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞 . Like 10 Stars Hotel🔥💫 The Owners are extremely wonderful people. We will return here every year from now on. Here we found our paradise. We have never slept better, the bed is of exceptional quality. As far as hygiene is concerned, 5-star hotels are ridiculous compared to Almiryda Sands. We can't wait till next Time.

Had a great stay. We stayed in Vita apartment that was very nicely furnished and with everything that we needed. Good location and only a short walk from the beach and all the restaurants. Yannis brought us bread and some delicious homemade jam on our first morning as a welcome gift and that was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend!

Loved it, great location to stay

Location was great just a 10 minute walk to the beach. Property is really well maintained and extremely clean and comfortable. We had the studio apartment but still had our own outdoor seating space which was really well maintained.

Pulling into the carpark can be a bit tight but manageable.

We stayed in Epsilon villa and it was amazing, the villa and the garden are very nicely and thoughtfully designed and clean. The location is perfect, close to the beach and the restaurants. Yannis and Cecile are amazing hosts, they really think of everything and are ready to help. We were there with a small child and they even brought a huge box of lovely toys for him. There is also a little Library next to the reception where you can borrow everything from books to beach toys, parasols, you name it. We hope to come back one day, and highly recommend this place to everyone. Yannis and Cecile thank you.

If you are looking for the ideal and perfect vacation home, you need look no further!

Almyrida Sands. Recommended, Recommended - HIGHLY Recommended! The lovely couple who run these apartments were onsite every morning, greeting us with smiles and conversations. They were always incredibly friendly, warm and helpful by spending time answering our questions and also loaning us toys for the apartment and the beach. We were greeted on our first morning with a basket of fresh, homemade bread and homemade jam (you can buy the jam onsite - recommended to take home!). What a wonderful way to ease into a week's vacation! These little touches helped us slip into vacation mode straight away as any worries were simply whisked away. Our apartment (Omega) was a great and safe space for us and our 18 month old daughter. As requested, we were given a changing table and cot, as well as eating utensils and a bath for her. Our apartment was cleaned regularly to an incredibly high standard - extremely helpful with a little one in tow! The outdoor space is ideal for baby baths (!), drying washing or simply relaxing with a glass of wine. Almyrida itself is an ideal location to spend your vacation as it is a small town with just enough amenities for your stay. Small beaches, lovely restaurants and a few (smaller) supermarkets to get your basics as you need them. Also, it is close to the airport (45 min drive), to hikes/culture/nature, but also the price and ratings of this 'home away from home'. The 4.9* rating of Almyrida Sands is far too low! Spotlessly clean apartment, cosy white, warm environment with the smells of carefully chosen plants, views on the cove of Almyrida... I could not recommend this place more. Thank you for our rejuvenating stay. Your care for our family allowed us to truly create meaningful memories and reconnect with ourselves and one another, for which we will be forever grateful for.

If we had anything to fault, it would be that their care and attention to the smallest of details was so spot on that finding anywhere else of this standard to stay in (anywhere in the world!), will be extremely difficult!!

Difficult access - not recommended for toddlers

- Good payment system, just need to make international bank transfer on provided bank account. - Host gives free bread and jam as a gift in the morning - Free parking

- Location isn't that good, you are only 60m in straight line from beach but to reach that beach you have to walk 300m on a steep road (without pavement) full of cars. For toddlers and eldery it might be very uncomfortable - Tiny bathroom - Swimming pool would be great but its not complain because I knew that it is not there, (most of space outside is for parking)

New app nice garden everything is new and comfortable. Owners are very friendly and they got us nice breakfast when we left. Overall nice but not for a long stay in our apartment.

Our apartment was really small (Studi app Alpha) with no space for sit and eat inside. No sink in the bathroom so you have to wash the tooth in the kitchen. If you stay for one night or two that is no problem.

Simply perfect!

Beautiful place in every way! Nicely decorated, clean and well equiped appartment. Lovely patio to eat and relax. The garden is beautiful. There is a private parking space on the yard so you never have to worry about finding one. The owners are so nice and helpful, always asking if everything is ok. Appartment was even cleaned in the middle of our four day stay. There are shops and restaurants nearby. We highly recommend!

Exceptional

We had a great contact with the hosts who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and for our stay to be enjoyable. The property was spotless clean and came with a very comfortable bed. Location was good as well, close to the beach and many good tavernas serving delicious Greek food.

Not much to complain about. We rented a room at the start of the season, meaning there were still ongoing some noisy prep-works at times and also the sea view from our apartment could have been more direct/prominent (as not all seaviews are equal ;), but we had a great stay regardless.

Absolutely beautiful and good value.

Beautiful and really well maintained - owner was on property every day and brought us home made bread and preserves, and olive oil from their own trees, Good parking. Good proximity to Almyrida. Good water pressure, great bedding and lovely styling. Perfectly clean. Excellent WiFi. We were very impressed.

There are steep stairs both outside and within the property. We didn't have any incidents, but I'm pretty phobic about coming downstairs generally, so it was a challenge. Would not put me off booking again though and the site has other properties on just the GF. The mattresses are very, very firm. I have a firm mattress at home, but we have a topper. The beds here were hard on my side-sleeping hips. We only stayed 3 nights, which I think might be my limit.

Gem of a place in a great location with wonderful hosts.

Gem of a place located just outside Almyrida, perfect location, super friendly hosts, very modern and well equipped apartment. Would definitely recommend.

Whilst the apartment was supplied with toilet rolls and bottled water on arrival, and home baked fresh bread rolls for breakfast on the first morning plus fresh oranges on the second, it would be great to have a few more basics such as tea bags, milk and juice on arrival, particularly for anyone arriving late in the day. Other than that, perfect :-)
