    Spent around a week here in Hakuba and it was quite nice. Rooms are reasonably spacious and well cleaned, and come equipped with heaters. No central heating means you’ll have to dress up a bit by default to keep warm. The place also has a nice 24/7 onsen in the basement to help you do that. Very convenient to get to Goryu and Toomi slope at Escal Plaza. The staff are all very attentive and helpful. For example, one staff member noticed I was doing some stuff on my laptop late in the evening and noticed I brought my charger, and she recommended a spot in the dining area where I could plug it in and work comfortably without me even having to ask. Also John, the owner, was very kind in driving a friend and I to the bus terminal to catch our bus to Nagano station. The only downside I can think of is that the heaters do lower the humidity by quite a lot. Since you’ll need to have them running most of the day, you have to make sure to moisturizer accordingly. I didn’t and I became dehydrated in places I didn’t think could get dehydrated, so do be aware. Including small humidifiers in each room would be helpful in preventing this in the future. All round, a great place to stay. Would definitely come back if I’m ever aiming to snowboard or ski at Escal plaza again.

    The hosts were really nice and friendly, offering excellent service and made the place feel homely and cosy. We could arrange for transport from our bus stop to the hotel and is around 10 min walk uphill to the ski lift

    Location is convenient and takes about 5 minutes to 10 minutes to walk to nearby rental shop and ski slope. Staff were helpful and friendly and room was clean and cosy and sufficient amenities.
