Powder Temple

This is a hostel type arrangement.....I guess one could call it a hotel. It has a big common area great for meeting people, having a BEvERage, a good kitchen and the owners/ staff are very kind and accommodating. They are doing some renos with respect to the shower and toilet areas which is warranted. My room was clean, but could use a bit of a spruce up (i.e. only one receptacle plug worked, no towel rack in the bathroom), but that is minor. Overall, you get what you pay for (good value) and the owner and his wife are fine people.

While this place is getting updated and renovated, I really enjoyed my stay here at Powder Temple. Hannah, Freya, Jack, Calle and Ture made the stay very welcoming. While work was being done to the place during my stay I was never bothered by it. It felt very homely and comfortable and the team always checked in to make sure everything was going well. The room was clean and had everything I needed; even a nice toiletry kit as I had forgot some toothpaste. Powder Temple made it seem like you were staying in a cabin with friends. East access to the slopes as there is a station to take a bus straight to 47 and Goryu which is very convenient. Will definitely stay here again.

It was an excellent stay. The staff and owner were super accomodating, couldnt have been nicer. Its super nice and comfy inside, with good facilities for drying gear and storing boards. The location being right next to the bus stop makes it one of the best locations in Hakuba. This is top choice accomodation if you want to snowboard in Hakuba.
