The service we received from this Ryokan was excellent, especially our host - Ken. He is so great and so thoughtful. He uses the translation device to communicate with us when we can't understand the Japanese well. The location is so great that we can easily reached tourist destinations. The room we stayed in worth every penny we spent.

Weather... but it is not within anybody's control. We wish we stayed there during sunny day and we could enjoyed it a lot more. I guess there is reason to visit again :0

We loved the Kaga Onsen region, and Ken was a wonderful host. He picked us up from the train station and drove us to the property. Since we only speak English and Ken speaks Japanese, he used a smartphone translator to communicate with us, which was incredibly helpful. We really enjoyed hearing him explain the town, the amenities, the room, and the food. The property is older and definitely shows its age, but it is meticulously maintained and that actually adds to its charm. It feels authentic and full of history rather than overly polished. We also loved sleeping on the futons on the floor, which made the experience feel even more traditional. Make sure to spend some time walking along the river and exploring the town. We found the whole area peaceful and deeply relaxing. The food pushed me a little outside my comfort zone in the best way possible, and everything was excellent. Our only “complaint” was the sheer amount of food. Come hungry because both dinner and breakfast are huge.

I liked everything about the property. It felt authentic and like it’s been there a long time. It may not be as glitzy and glammy as some others in town but it was a perfect reprieve on our long trip.

The service. Kim was amazing and it was peaceful.
