The Cottage

Beds were comfortable with both double & single beds being a good size and warm. Really welcoming for our dog who happily made herself at home and relaxed into the new surroundings as soon as she walked through the door. The location was great for us as I took my mum to Silverstone for the weekend and my wife enjoyed the village and nearby beauty spots with our dog. Lots of nice little touches around the property with coffee pods and some little treats, lots of games, books, dvds and blankets.

The cottage was quite chilly on arrival and took a while to warm up. To be fair, it was a very unexpected cold snap after all the warm weather we’ve had and we got a little caught out ourselves with how cold the weekend has been even after checking the weather before we left. Once the cottage warmed up though, it was nice and snug.

Lovely cottage with real character

The Cottage is beautiful - it feels really safe and comfortable, and very relaxing. The beds are super comfortable- comfiest bedding ever! There were loads of really thoughtful touches, and there was everything we needed for a family weekend away. Only a 15min drive from Silverstone race track, lovely little village shop 5mins walk away, and a really kind and thoughtful host who went out of their way to help!

There was nothing we didn’t like, other than we couldn’t stay longer!

We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage and appreciated being able to bring our dog with us. The decor is very lovely indeed and the property is in a very quiet peaceful location. We liked the ease of entry with a key box, communication was great with the host. Instructions were easy. There are lots of extra items in the kitchen, many espresso cups. Complimentary coffee pods and teabags and milk were a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and there are lots of games and videos to enjoy. The stair gate was helpful. Parking was manageable.

We found the barbecue dirty and no scourer just a soft cloth to clean it. We didn’t use it. The frying pan is small, the oven is rusty. We used a ladle to serve food as there was no large spoon. There are other reviews that highlighted potential improvements and we would agree with some of them. It’s a tad tired in places and some updates are needed for it to be perfect. but overall it’s didn’t affect our stay and we would reccomend it.
