The main reason I am giving this hotel 1 star is an incident I witnessed on two separate days during my stay.
While I was getting food in the restaurant, I witnessed a person named Ahmet Sevinç, who I understood to be the head chef, shouting at and speaking to members of his staff in a very disrespectful and humiliating manner in front of guests. He used expressions such as, “You will never amount to anything” and “If I put the two or three of you together, you still wouldn’t make one decent employee.” Hearing staff members being spoken to in this way in front of customers was extremely uncomfortable and disappointing.
Of course, management has the right and responsibility to correct or criticise employees when necessary. However, I do not believe that insulting or humiliating employees in front of hotel guests is acceptable, especially in a 5-star hotel. What made it even more concerning was that I witnessed this behaviour not just once, but on two separate days.
Under normal circumstances, based on the overall hotel experience, I would have considered giving the hotel 4 stars. However, witnessing this treatment of employees was unacceptable to me. For that reason, I am giving 1 star so that the hotel management is aware of what I personally witnessed and can review the situation appropriately.
