The food and the Staff at the restaurant were very good. Lokesh was very attentive and attended to all requests. Whoever was at the bar didnt have much experience and sent a 30 ml Martini just by itself in a Martini glass which presented a rather weird picture of an empty glass with a red conical bottom. That wasnt expected at TAJ

I had an issue but by mentioning it I'm perhaps only exhibiting my ignorance. I had a group booking for one night (18th Nov) by the inviting company. I wished to extend by another night (19th Nov) on personal expenses. I was told at the reception that there were no rooms available, when clearly a room could be booked online - which is what I did. It was disturbing that even when rooms may not be available technically - as they've probably been bought out by travel agents – the rooms are realistically indeed available – but a contemporary guest couldn’t be offered a room. NEXT - I couldn’t keep the same room and had to shift into another one. Maybe the US$ 250 room was different from the one that I occupied already. However, I would have gone out of my way to let the guest keep the same room - or at least suggested that perhaps in another 20-50 USD the guest could keep the same room, especially when a point had been made about not being able to get a room at the reception when it could be booked online. The room I finally got was nowhere worth the US$ 250. Suffice to say that having nearly 30 years’ experience of staying in 2-to-7-star hotels, AirBnBs, other short-stay Apartments, all over the globe, at least 12-15 times a year – it was clear that all the Luxury and customer-care promised by TAJ remains only in their glossy magazine and TV Ad that runs when one enters the room of TAJ Yeshwantpur. It was a disappointing stay, unlike the previous ones at TAJ at other locations. TAJ Yeshwantpur turned out to be a blemish on the brand. But how does the opinion of one customer matter when there are enough clients ready to pay US$ 250 - starting - to whatever is their upper limit of so-called luxury offerings. Clearly Bengaluru is so full of people/companies clamoring to take those rooms that one bad review (which I am am sure their Comms people can offer standard explanations and apologies about) just does not matter.
