About this apartment rental

In the fifteenth century, the apartment was part of the monastery of S. Maria degli Angeli, the Carmelite sisters became nuns. In the monastery he lived and died Santa Maria Maddalena de 'Pazzi. Come down to the present day the apartment has just been refurbished with antique furniture and fine finishes, and enjoys a wide and wonderful view of Florence, with its flowered terraces, the Cestello Church, the Duomo and Giotto's bell tower . And 'it situated in the Oltrarno, in the district of San Frediano, on the third floor of a nice bourgeois building, to reach which you walk 75 steps comfortable. Two of the three double bedrooms are located on a mezzanine floor, easily accessible by 9 steps.
The beds have dimensions of 160x200, 170x200, 170x190. 'Also a sofa bed to get to 8 beds in total.

This place was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! As advertised, there are a lot of steps but well worth it with the beautiful view that it has. Washer/dryer was a great plus since we were traveling throughout Italy during our stay. Host was responsive and very helpful with local suggestions even before we came to Italy!! Would definitely recommend and stay here again in a heartbeat!

Everything was amazing and as communicated on the description and more. Paolo greeted us and gave us wonderful food and sightseeing recommendations and the apartment had every detail and amenity to make our family stay as comfortable as possible. The location is perfect - just outside the crowds and noise but with wonderful restaurants, bars, cafes, and other services. I was hesitant to put a recommendation so not too many people find out about it but Silvia/Paolo deserve the 5 stars!

This was the perfect way to do Florence! In an amazing location out of the way of heavy tourist activity. Could immerse in the culture but easily get wherever we wanted to go. The apartment was clean, spacious and updated with privacy for all 5 of us as well! Could not recommend more highly!

We loved our stay at the Basket of Angels! After mastering the 75 stairs up and back down, we enjoyed being in a less touristy location. We liked Paulo’s welcome, washer/dryer amenities, and the FAB gelato stop close by. When the remotes needed batteries to function and provide heat, we so loved a visit from Silvia’s friend in our same building. What a treat to wine and dine together looking out to see the Duomo from our open window. Thank you Silvia for sharing this space with us.

For us it is like coming home now. The location, property, hospitality are all perfect. We happily return to the lovely apartment eyrie with fantastic views time and again. This time there were five of us, our three children adult through to teenage, all joined us and the accommodation fitted us perfectly. Great for the city access but also lovely just as it is. We’ll be back. Thanks to Paolo for his flexibility with our arrival (the trains were on strike) and to Silvia for enabling me to add our eldest son easily to the booking at the last minute. Another success.

Lots of places to stay while in Florence, but few - if any - can top Silvia’s “Basket of Angels”. This apartment is exactly as advertised. Perfect location. Super comfortable bedrooms. Terrific views. Silvia was fantastic. Part of our company arrived early in the morning and Silvia arranged to check them in several hours early. Very much appreciated Silvia…, thank you!!! We would certainly stay here again, and highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Florence.

The apartment was beautiful, clean, and very spacious. The view from the bedroom window is amazing. The neighborhood was quiet but close to great food and the center of the city (we were able to walk everywhere). Communication with the owner was very easy and she was very nice to help us get settled in on the evening of our arrival. We would definitely stay here again if we had the opportunity.

Stayed nine nights in this apartment and was perfect in every way. I've been to Florence many times and prefer staying in the Oltrarno district. The locale of the apartment is ideal as you have great Trattoria's, cafes, bakeries, delis, etc all within 5 minutes on foot. I never took a cab (except airport transfer) on this visit and was in and around Florence city every day, the walk along the Arno is easy and beautiful as you head to or back from the "city". It's really an exaggeration to say city as, again, everything is within walking distance if you so choose. The host Silvia was very helpful and provided great communication and easy check in. The property is very clean and bright with large windows and great views, very well equipped. As a rental property owner myself, I was pleased with every aspect of the stay. I highly recommend!

Our family really enjoyed this setting. The apartment accommodated all 5 of us comfortably. Air conditioning a plus. Dining and living rooms spacious. Great views of Florence from picture windows in the apartment. Easy to walk to Arno river and historic Florence area . Supermarket close by. Washing machine was an advantage to us. Folding drying rack would be helpful in addition to window clothing drying lines. Kitchen small but contained all the essentials. Many steps to climb to the top floor but the view from windows are worth it.

This apartment is huge with beautiful views of Florence's historic architecture at every window of the unit. Paolo met us on the street to bring us to the property. After the pre warned flights of steps (not so bad after all as you go up and down maybe once or twice a day and can work off the pasta and gelato) we were toured around this great rental property. Perfect for our family of 4 !! two separate bedrooms up separate flights of stairs, one for each daughter in their 20's and gorgeous area to sleep (not really a bedroom but loved it!) on the main floor. Kitchen not great for cooking but why the heck would you cook in Florence anyhow LOL Just used it to store our vino and appetizer foods we bought ....otherwise we were out and about from morning til bedtime pretty much. Views were amazing and comfort and style were perfect. I would stay here again for sure !!! Location was perfect. the only thing I would have loved were laundry machine instructions in English LOL and the scented reed/diffuser at the front entrance was too strong. Need a much lighter pleasant scent. Wondered what smell it might be covering up LOL If you have scent sensitivities ask them to remove before. No biggie....again you will be rarely there in the apartment but when you are YOU WILL LOVE EVERY MINUTE....more spacious than you can imagine !!!

It was well appointed and very relaxing, the views were stupendous and it felt as it was: totally old yet perfectly current. The stairs might frighten a lot of people but we only needed to carry cases up once, so were very happy in our eyrie. We will definitely return and recommend, as it is well located yet out of the way….

The apartment was great and had everything (other than an elevator) and the only time it was a struggle was with luggage so pack light. The beds were very comfortable, lots of great restaurants close by in quaint neighborhood. We walked to the heart of Florence both mornings which took about 15-20 min. It was also very quiet with great views. You dont need a car and we had to struggle to find a garage so book ahead as it may be cheaper. Paolo was great to work with.

We loved our stay at Oltrarno. The apartment is absolutely beautiful. The building is in a wonderful part of town that is very walkable to every thing you want to see. It is also very quiet and the views from every window are amazing. All the windows open too, which is very nice. We were two couples and we all had a great time.
