The living and dining area are equipped with new, custom lighting and faux wood tile floors. The refurbished and expanded kitchen features granite counters, top of the line stainless steel appliances, custom cabinets and backsplash, a convection oven and all the trimmings for preparing a gourmet meal for friends and family. The dining area has a wood dining table with seating for 8, along with a bar area with stools around the kitchen.
The living area features a large 50" flat screen Smart TV mounted above the fireplace on custom built ledger stone, and a comfortable sectional sofa. Adjacent to the living room is a sliding glass door and private deck overlooking the community pool and spa with a peek-a-boo view of Mammoth Mountain.
The first master bedroom is privately located on the second floor, and has another 50" flat screen Smart TV, DVD Player, Eastern King bed, plenty of closet and drawer space and an attached bath with granite counters, sinks for two, custom cabinetry and a steam shower! The second master bedroom downstairs has a unique setup, with a custom built bunk bed with an Eastern King bed on top and a Queen bed on the bottom, and an attached bath with granite counters, faux wood tile floors, shower and tub. The third bedroom has a traditional bunk set with a Queen on the bottom and a long Twin on the top, and the third bath features a beautifully tiled shower.
Altogether a spectacular mountain condo for a discerning family. This property is adjacent to the lifts, sport shop and ski school at Canyon Lodge, as well as the Village Gondola allowing easy access to all the shops, restaurants and nightlife at the Village at Mammoth. All guests receive complimentary full access to Snowcreek Athletic Club to enjoy facilities including indoor heated pool, steam/sauna, full fitness facility, yoga, pilates and cycle studio and more. The property sleeps 9, there are 16 steps to get to the condo entrance, and has cable TV, high speed wireless Internet, one assigned parking spot in the underground garage (clearance 7' 2"), and an included ski locker at the condo for all your gear! The property is an extremely good central location. Most of the interiors of the property was decent. Upgraded kitchen (although we hardly used it since we ate out all the three days we stayed).
Now some of the things that were rough edges from our side:
- There was paint work that was going on in the stairs, and floor walkways. The paint smell was so pungent and unhealthy to breathe. This was not disclosed to us at the time when we book the property. And with infant kids in our group, this was a big negative from our side.
- The property is in the second floor of the building (so there is a walk up, roughly about 20 steps from the garage). There are no elevators in the building.
- There is one allocated car space. So if you have multiple cars (we had two cars) there are only 3 guest parking lots for the entire building (first-come-first serve basis). We got lucky to find an empty guest parking spot every time. The overflow parking is about 10 minutes drive.
- The property does not have any air conditioning (only heating). So in summer (it was 90+ deg when we were there) the rooms got really warm. Even with the ceiling fan in the second floor master bedroom it got really hot. There are no fans in the other two rooms. There is a ceiling fan in the living room.
