Vassos Apartments

The highlight is the owner, super friendly and caring (never met her in person though, everything was done remotely… I’m old fashioned so I would have liked to meet her in person), sharing heads-ups about Rhodes.

We got what I expected was a very nice room, since it was the one with sea view. The photos on the website are misleading, I thought there was outdoor place outside, but there wasn’t: just old cranky windows hard even to close properly (with the wind the blinders were continuously shutting, not pleasant), that had a seaview but: no hangers neither to put the bikinis to dry (ground floor rooms had outdoor space, but they are “wall view” and pretty claustrophobic). The room was super old, from the furniture up to the aircon, it was super hot in Lindos and in order to have a decent temperature (would say 28/29 Celsius) you need to keep it all night at least 23, very noisy. It looked like a very low key hostel with doors that seemed made of cardboard. The shower had its heathing tank above your head, making explosive noises while using warm water, you did not feel safe, and the upper shower head was not usable. Did not use the kitchen, so no feedback on that, but again it seemed super old as the rest of the furniture. What did make me understand that this would have been a completely different experience than the others apartments/hotels I’ve encountered during my Greek trips, is that they were very cheap also in commodities that are “granted” in any other place in Greece: for example, there wasn’t neither a bottle of water in the fridge, or other essentials for example (in this case it was two single packages biscuits on the desk in front of the window) - in the kitchen I would say at least a sponge and a soap, I’m not asking for a nespresso machine… the price was not cheap for the kind of room, but I guess overtourism is doing his course here in Lindos (about this, if you don’t like to be packed like a sardine with the August heat, i advice to visit early in the morning, after 9.30 it gets insane).

Great location, very helpful host keeping me informed from booking until departing. Spacious room and very clean, loved the little extras like toiletries, tea,coffee etc if needed.

Wasn't anything- only thing I would say is an extra pillow..but nothing wrong at all. Did what we expected and more for one night, thank you.

We have stayed here many times and it's wonderful to see that the bathroom has been modernised. It is excellent now! The beds are comfortable, the staff are fantastic, the location is outstanding and it's still the best place to stay in Lindos, in our opinion. Thank you to Giota, who always makes sure we have whatever we need. She is outstanding!

The sky light in Room 1 is still really annoying. The people on the same corridor switch it on (which is perfectly acceptable) but don't switch it off because they don't realise it shines in on room 1.
