One bedroom flat in Central London in a secure
gated development, walking distance to the Thames, House of Parliament and South Bank. The apartment is light with floor to ceiling glazing and rear garden patio.

The Space

The flat is on the ground floor of a gated development of apartments of an Grade 2 Listed School Building in the London central area of Kennington and walking distance to the Thames, House of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, South Bank, etc.

The apartment has its own separate independent entrance from the gated courtyard.
The building is conveniently located at about 200 metres away from the Thames and Lambeth Bridge.
The apartment sleeps 2 people with 1 bedroom with a king size bed.
It comprises of a bright reception room overlooking the rear patio garden . It is west facing with plenty of natural light.

Getting Around

The building is in Lambeth North, just across Lambeth Bridge from Westminster and the Houses of Parliament.
There is no car park available for guests and off street parking is only allowed all day on Saturday and Sunday or during the week after 6:30 pm until 8:30 am.
The building is located about 10 minutes walk from Lambeth North tube station (Bakerloo Line – 3 stops to Piccadilly Circus). There are a bus stop at the end of the Street-3 minutes walk- in front of Lambeth Bridge. Bus number 159 takes you to Piccadilly Circus, via the Thames, Trafalgar Square, The Big Ben and the Parliament Building in just 5-10 minutes. Citymapper App accurately shows where tube and bus stops are located and the timetable.

TAXIS
Use Uber or the London Cab Apps


VICTORIA STATION is located very close by. Approximately 5 minutes taxi drive to the apartment or 10-15 minutes by bus depending on traffic. You will be arriving at this station if your flights lands at Gatwick Airport. It can also be reached very easily by bus from Lambeth Palace or underground from Vauxhall Station.

WATERLOO STATION is located at 5-10 minutes walking distance from the apartment.

DIRECTIONS FROM HEATHROW AIRPORT
From Heathrow Airport there are a few ways to get to Central London and to the apartment. The airport is far away and it will take some time to get to Central London.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Option 1 - TRAIN
Take the Heathrow Express train to Paddington Station. A return ticket is £39. It usually takes 15-20 minutes. From Paddington Station you can take a Uber to the apartment. It should only take 20 minutes and the cost will probably be £15 - £20. It is easier and cheaper to take the underground or a direct taxi instead.

OPTION 2 – UNDERGROUND/BUS (best)
You can take the PICCADILLY LINE form Heathrow and it will take you to Piccadilly Circus from there Bus no. 3 will take you to the apartment which is off Lambeth Bridge bust stop. The best and quickest way is to go by underground to Piccadilly Circus and get a taxi to the apartment which is only 5-10 minutes away.

OPTION 3 - TAXI
You can pre-book a taxi from:
Uber, Addison Lee which have larger and better cars or the standard London Black Cabs.

We staid here during a heat wave... so our impressions are governed by the fact that the apartment's glass walls make you choose between privacy and ventilation. Everything is quite nice and functional with the possible exception that the bath/shower is a little treacherous. Maybe add a grab bar? or include a non-slip shower pad? Also, for hot weather, need a lighter cover than the heavy winter comforter which would be lovely in winter.

Overall we were very pleased and definitely recommend Umberto's sleek, modern, well appointed and very clean condo. Umberto was very prompt with emails and provided excellent information about the condo, wifi, transportation, things to do nearby as well as great information about restaurants, grocers, even art galleries! (The Jeff Koons gallery and lunch at Pharmacy2 were definite highlights!) Barbara, Umberto's housekeeper, did an excellent job and was very helpful. With its high ceilings, tall doors, expansive windows, minimalist white decor and excellent space utilization this condo and its site with courtyard fountain and reflecting pool were a modernist treat. The only two things we needed to manage for were: that while the bed is described as a "king" for North Americans it is not quite a "queen" so at 6'3" it was a bit of a squeeze, but otherwise quite comfortable; and secondly, taxis and uber had a lot of trouble finding us but we found telling them "99 Lollard Street" completely solved that. We highly recommend Umberto and his terrific condo!

The apartment was awesome! We got to experience the locals view of London, eating at neighborhood pubs, taking different types of public transportation, visiting the local market, and relaxing in a very comfortable apartment every night. It was easy to get to every tourist attraction, and peacefully quite on the patio when we were done. Loved it and I would go back to the same apartment again.
