Oh what a view!

Stunning view! Comfortable beds. Enough crockery & cutlery. Pots & pans were in a good condition. Great lounge & dining area.

The dishwasher made a terrible noise. The windows opened slightly therefore little air circulation. Bathrooms need an extractor fan.

Beautiful location with the best view of Paternoster. Close to restaurants and the beach. Very tranquil and the beds were very comfortable.

The breakaway spot we never knew we needed. Sunrise to Sunset, absolutely beauty and calm.

There is nothing not to like about this place. From sunrise to sunset it offered beauty and calm. The house offers more than the images and is so clean and fully equipped. Definitely a winner. I’d say it’s perfect for a couple or a group stay.

The drains gave off a slight urine smell when showering but nothing a bit of Domestos can’t fix.

The setting/ view is fantastic, but for the price I expected more from the house.

Place was not clean (floors, oven), bed linen not complete (had to ask host for sheets), no comfortable deck chairs/ tan chairs to enjoy view (no reply from host after 2 telephonic requests) had to treat drains with drain cleaner due to bad odour, stoep sliding door jammed. Cupboards in bedrooms wonky and smelly.

Good - but not great.

Property is very well equipped in most areas. With a simple, basic, construction using bare concrete floors, it stays cool in the summer, which is good - not sure what it would be like in Winter. The view is stunning, looking out over the main beach. It's very close (short walks) to restaurants and bars, so it's very convenient. Like other properties in Paternoster, it has an extensive security system for when you're out..The two main beds are large and comfortable, slightly on the hard side, with good quality pillows and duvets. The WiFi was fast (enough to stream) and reliable.

Quite a lot of noise from the nearby community - I was woken every morning at 04:30 by dogs barking. The crayfish boats go out from 6am, using their outboard motors so, bring earplugs. All the (single glazed) windows in the bedrooms have inset roller blinds instead of curtains - they are useless at keeping out light, so unless the morning light doesn't bother you, bring a sleep mask. There is also a line of small windows that form the joint between walls and ceiling - some of these are broken and all are uncovered, so again, expect it to get light very early! The website promised "satellite TV stations" - there was none. In fact the only channels available were radio channels, no TV. This is becoming very common in South Africa. One side of the property is completely open onto a footpath down onto the beach - its very unnerving to have people walking right up onto the stoep and banging on the back windows trying to beg or sell you crayfish. Whilst the view from that stoep is glorious, there is no braaiplace on it and the lack of privacy makes it less attractive to sit there.

The location is truly exceptional, right on the rocks above the beach. You could not ask for a more beautiful view and direct access to the beach below.

The only issue was the lack of clarity regarding the key collection. We were told simply to collect the keys from "reception" on the main road of the town. No further details were given. We stopped at one of the property rental companies in town and asked if the property was on their books and they advised us where to go. I think that in the future, Booking.com should advise guests that the keys for this property must be collected from the company Paternoster Rentals. This will help future guests.

We had a pleasant stay

The location is stunning. The views of the bay is beautiful and there is easy access to the beach

The kitchen is not well stocked for cooking and braaing. The house was very cold and we had to ask for a gas bottle when we arrived. The rooms were freezing. We were hassled by people coming up the the house all the time trying to sell goods until late at night. The garage was locked so my car had to stand outside and they tried to steal my roofrack without success, but breaking off a piece leading to unnecessary cost to me.

The property is dog friendly, but there is no wall, even a low wall to contain the dogs so they went crazy anytime locals walked past. A low wall and possibly something to shield slightly from rd side without disturbing the view would have been 100%

Super Lage mit tollem Blick auf die Bucht. Grosszügige Wohnzimmer/Küche. Das alte Haus hat Charme. Wegen der unten beschriebenen Umstände wurde uns versprochen die Kosten eines Tages zu erstatten.

Alarmanlage funktionierte auch nach 6 Tagen nicht. Täglich kam deshalb teils mehrmals Security vorbei. Dazu gab es für 2 Paare nur 1 Schlüssel mit Bedienung für die Alarmanlage. Sauberkeit mässig: im Kühlschrank war der Wasserspender dreckig, unter dem Bett, das wir wegen einer Maus hochstellen mussten, war viele Staubflocken. Wegen Mäusefänger, Putzfrau, Security mussten wir öfter im Haus präsent sein.
