The Bothy

The Bothy is a lovely two bed bungalow with spacious double bedrooms. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay including a dishwasher, a washing machine, a microwave, a large fridge freezer and all the kitchen utensils necessary for a great stay. When we arrived we were greeted with a lovely card welcoming us to Lyndhurst and to start us off, Steph and John had kindly provided us a loaf of bread, some fresh milk and a pot of homemade marmalade that Steph made, which was delicious! There was also a vase of freshly cut flowers which was a really nice touch. We stayed at the bungalow for a week so it meant we needed to go shopping. Luckily, the location of The Bothy is minutes away from Lyndhust village centre where there is a Tesco Express and a variety of shops and restaurants to suit your needs. If you want to head out to a larger supermarket, there is a large Morrisons with a petrol station about 5 miles away. The Bothy is also ideally locatated if you want to start exploring the New Forest on foot or by bike. You can literally step outside and explore what the New Forest has to offer- a short 5-minute walk to Bolton's Bench and across the common to see the ponies is a nice start! If you want to visit some ancient woodland, I'd recommend 'Tall Trees', a short drive from Lyndhurst, or you can take a local bus to explore the other villages like Brokenhurst and Lymington ( by the sea). Lymington in particular is well worth a day trip. We also drove to Beaulieu to visit the famous car museum. This was a lovely day out and there was ample free parking so you could relax. If you prefer to take a tour of the New Forest there is an open top bus that takes you on a day trip around various villages which you can hop on and off. Overall just a magical holiday- I would definitely recommend it. I

To be honest, there were no issues with The Bothy or with the location. The only thing I would say is during rush hour the village roads can get quite busy with traffic so just be mindful of that.

The location was perfect, just steps away from the high street ! The surrounding walks & shops are plentiful for everything you need. We were impressed when we arrived & felt very welcome !

A lovely, comfortable property in a perfect location for exploring all the New Forest has to offer. 5 minute walk into Lyndhurst... perfect. Quiet location.
