I am so glad I found this little gem. I haven't stayed in Dahab before (but had visited for the day for diving) and spent a long time comparing hotels. I wanted something quiet and chilled with some character and a pool and in walking distance of the restaurants/shops on the promenade and the dive centre we'd chosen; which was a tall order I discovered! But Acacia fit the bill perfectly, the location was great, close enough to the shops etc. but far enough to be quiet in the evenings (*see below). The rooms, grounds and pool were kept meticulously clean and have a wonderful vibe/style. It doesn't look much from the street but once through the doors, it's a real oasis. Ahmed and the rest of the staff could not do enough for us, they were so welcoming and helpful at every turn. I almost don't want anyone else to know how good it is, because it was so wonderful and peaceful there, with few other guests when we stayed but they deserve to be a success and I hope to stay there again in future. One thing to bear in mind, is that they occasionally hold parties in the bedouin style lounge/restaurant down by the beach. I don't think these are every week and the (trance) music was actually decent but it went on til 2am and you will need earplugs if you intend to get up early for diving the next day! It didn't spoil our stay and if we'd been in the partying mood, it sounded like it would have been fun, but something to bear in mind, if you're just looking to chill out. The rest of the stay was utter peace and quiet and I look forward to staying there again one day.
