We stayed at Penzion Kovac for three nights and had a good experience.
At first, we were a bit worried about the self-check-in machine, but the process turned out to be very easy and quick.
We got the room we had booked, and it was clean, and had a nice balcony. Housekeeping was done every day.
The location of the guesthouse is excellent. It’s only 15–30 minutes drive from the mountains and many of Slovenia’s main natural attractions. Ljubljana is also just a 30-minute drive away, making it a great base for exploring the area.
Also private parking is a big advantage.
Would be nice to have a kettle in the room.
We were a bit confused because the information booklet in the room stated that using the air conditioner costs €5 per night. During the summer, air conditioning is something most guests are likely to need, so charging extra for it felt a little unusual. We chose not to use it because we didn’t want to pay an additional fee. I would suggest including the cost in the room rate so guests can use the air conditioning without worrying about extra charges.

The room is nice, with good Wi-Fi and a lovely balcony. The bed was comfy.
No coffee maker was available. The price of breakfast was 15 euros, not 10. The facilities were basic and lacking. There was no flexibility regarding luggage storage. The staff was unfriendly; when asked questions, they were unresponsive and somewhat argumentative.
