Agriturismo Podere Chiassaie

Very nice cozy home. Host was super friendly old farmer (careful, does not speak English :). The house is super big with 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms, but do not expect new modern equipment or furniture, it is an old farm house, which gives the place the right authenticity and we honestly loved it. The owner offered us fruits from his garden and gave us tips for locals stuff to visit. You definitely need a car to move around, even though it looks super close to city of Monticchiello, you would have to walk on the main street for cars, which could be very dangerous. To Pienza is only around 15 minutes drive (definitely worth going to visit it, my favorite place in whole Tuscany:)

The apartment was very big, 2 floors. There are 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, 2 big living rooms. There is a washing machine and detergents, so one could also use. Coffee and sweet treats for breakfast were included.

There is no WiFi, and due too thick walls data wasn't available. Some of the areas we not very clean, like bathroom mirrors, etc. Would be nice to get an iron for guests.

The location is great - being in the heart of the Val d'Orcia. Montichiello is less than 5 minutes drive and has a small bakery/convenience store. The old fortified town is very beautiful and offers good restaurant options. The property itself is charming from the outside.

The property is advertised as having two bathrooms - this is something of a stretch given the second bathroom is a semi-wet room with a very unpractical shower. Suffice to say, we did not use it. There were no photos of the bathrooms included on the website - had we seen the bathrooms, we would not have booked this property. Whilst I was aware there was no air conditioning, I had expected that there would be fans, given it is summer time. The bedrooms were very hot at night, even with the windows open - which then brought the additional problem of mosquitos. The overall cleanliness was below average - the bathrooms were dusty and not properly cleaned on arrival. The fridge was not properly clean and there were cobwebs present throughout the property. Cleaning sponges and clothes were left lying around the property which was very off-putting. Given we stayed for one week, we expected some help with removal of rubbish, etc. But we ended up piling the rubbish bags in the kitchen for removal at the end. The laundry facilities were underwhelming. The washing machine worked well, however, there was no ironing board and the iron was essentially unusable - therefore rendering washing clothes, a little pointless.
