Stayed in Nomad Nest. Politeness of the team, great location (peaceful and quite), close to view points. Very well equipped kitchen. Parking spot on site.
There’s high humidity on the island, so when entering the Nest you may smell the heavy, wet air (not good for delicate ones). Also some parts inside require more frequent painiting and refreshners. I’d recommend adding in the nests some air diffusers for better first walk in experience.

I will be honest, originally since I've never been to Sao Miguel previously I was hesitant to book, but after staying there I even cancelled another booking and rebooked there for additional nights. They were very easy to talk to in English and on Whatsapp (they responded so quick), and they also helped us out with doing laundry (which I must remark was very clean and fresh smelling/feeling (I don't like smelly/perfumey laundry soap, and this was really good to get "fresh" laundry back, which helped enormously for my trip plans)), and there is a mini marcado very close/across from the church so you can get milk, water etc. I didn't try their breakfast, but it was offered. I was originally hesitant about the lock box and key and whatsapp etc, but it was no big deal and actually really convenient. They were in good contact with me and provided details and it was extremely easy. Honestly, it was nice to feel taken care of on a big international trip. I didn't use their kitchen at all, but there seemed to be a lot of things to use. I used their parking space, and just go slow to enter / leave. The only thing to note is that (for mobility issues) there are stairs, but the bathroom is upstairs/next to bedroom so you don't have to go up and down in the night. Also, the shower is like walk in/ not a bath tub. So that was good too. And, after a lot of difficult showers in Sao Miguel, this ended up being one of the best ones/easiest ones with good hot water and enough pressure. And this is a very easy place to access a lot of things to do, plus we saw the Romeiros at the church. And a lot of cows, tractors, dogs, and old windmills. It is very close to Sete Cidades too. If I'm in the area again, I would be back!
the only downside I would say is I couldn't use the balcony as I intended because I can't get down low for the type of sling net chairs that were there, and I would have really preferred a normal chair to sit outside with/the balcony is taken up with the lounge chairs and I couldn't really fit outside. This doesn't take away from much and I really enjoyed this location, and I would stay there again happily.

Cosy and nicely designed studio. Loved the interior containing everything what was needed. One of best stays in Azores so far - great views from windows, very clean and well equipped, having this touch of inspiration to travel, great location - far from the city. Slow life there is great.
Despite AC on high temperature felt a bit cold, but maybe due to big space.

I loved the book prepared for the guests, very well written, full of invaluable tips for visits and much more, including the history of the villa and Monique's family who lived there, a glimpse of life in Varzea many decades ago, an added value that it was shared with guests! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Varzea and Monique, although virtual, was always attentive and quick to respond to our messages.
