Aphilapa Residence

We stayed at Aphilapa Residence as a group of eight, including four adolescent boys. Overall, we had a pleasant stay thanks to the friendly and helpful service. The property was clean, basic, and well maintained. The family room was spacious, comfortable, and ideal for our teenagers. Having two bathrooms was a real advantage, and the mosquito nets in this room were in good condition and fitted the beds properly.

The double rooms are quite small. They were fine for a short stay of a few days, but would feel cramped for anything longer. There was very little space to unpack or store clothes. Our main disappointment was the mosquito nets in the double rooms. They seemed to be made for single beds rather than double beds and had clearly been repaired many times. Because they were too small, they had numerous holes and often became tangled around us during the night instead of providing effective protection from mosquitoes. One small suggestion would be to consider replacing the dark-coloured towels with lighter ones. While the towels may well be perfectly clean, darker colours can give the impression that they are worn or not as fresh as they actually are. Despite these issues, the kindness of our host and cleanliness made for a good stay. With better-fitting mosquito nets, a little more storage space in the double rooms, and lighter-coloured towels, the overall experience would be even better.

Aphilapa Residence was a lovely accommodation located in a quiet corner of the old town, yet close to temples, great food and massage salons. It had a nice authentic feel to it, a well maintained garden and a helpful owner. Out of 4 different accommodations in Thailand including hotels with swimming pools, our kids claimed that this was their favourite:)We found the 2 bathrooms for our 5 person family very convenient and appreciated fresh water and snacks every day!

Location is fantastic. Room clean and cozy. Shower was hot (reduce how much you let flow out). Affordable cleaning service available.
