About this cottage rental
Located just two blocks from Main Street in the heart of town this special cottage defines quality. The front porch has a swing and two rockers designed to help guests relax and enjoy.
Inside is a living/dining room complete with oversized loveseat and chair plus a large ottoman and are placed to enjoy the large cable television plus the wood fireplace. The colors in the prestigious room are accents of burgundy and a sage green. A fully equipped kitchen is also open to the living/dining room. Everything two people will need—electric range/oven, large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and coffeemaker. Plus an antique oak drop leaf table for four is found in the living area to enjoy coffee and breakfast.
The bedroom's elegance is a wonderful sight to behold. The queen bed is decked in plum, sage and pink creating an air of grandness. An awesome oversized chair is found in this bedroom along with other quality pieces of furniture your hosts have collected. The bathroom has a shower. Just outside the bedroom is a screened porch with a white wicker table and chairs.
The home is pet friendly and will accept up to two dogs. However, there is a pet fee of $17/dog/night. Due to the fact that HomeAway/VRBO does not allow us to charge for more than one dog at the time of booking, please let us know if you will be bringing more than one dog, so that we can make sure that you are charged the correct amount. If you bring more than one dog and do not let us know, you will be charged accordingly. Furthermore, please bring crates for your dogs and crate them in your absence from the house, do not allow the dogs on furniture or beds, and pick up and properly dispose of their waste. If these rules are not followed, there will be an additional $200 charge added to your reservation.
Please be aware that there is a separate, larger home at the front of the property that may be occupied by other guests during your stay. Your cottage though is private and only accessible by you.

- Observe the City of Fredericksburg Quiet Hours (10pm to 7am in residential zones). No music of any kind after 10 pm.
- The City of Fredericksburg is a Dark Sky Community with outdoor lighting restrictions. All outdoor lighting is encouraged to be turned off when no one is present to use the light.
- Observe the designated on-site and off-site parking spaces.
- Place all trash in designated containers.

Beautiful cottage super close to downtown and a great coffee shop a block away. Cottage is decorated beautifully, was clean and our little pups enjoyed the yard while we enjoyed the front porch swing. Highly recommend and we look forward to staying here again!

Everything was perfect....location, withing walking distance to downtown, clean and everything you need for a comfortable stay, cottage was perfectly decorated and felt homey!

A really cute comfy cottage with a great fireplace which comforted us during the rainy days we were there. A great cottage for our two small dogs with a screened in porch leading to a fenced area outside. The fence was inadequate to keep a small dog in and our Papillon did get out but we fortunately caught her. After that I would only let them out if I was standing there with them. The neighbors unfortunately made it "party city" day and night but I would hope that was just then. We would definitely rent it again.

Nice place to stay in town. We walked everywhere and never needed to drive.The noise from Hill & Vine was not much of an issue. weekend music was Muffled in the bedroom and stopped before 10:00pm. The driveway is also an exit for Hill & Vine so watch out for cars!!The side yard screened porch and grass was nice for our dog to go outside in a contained area. The down side of renting from Gastehaus Schmidt and not an owner/operator, is the lack of personal response and detail to individual properties. For example, 1/2 roll of TP was all that was provided. Provided shampoo ran out on day 2. No kitchen linen towels, no garbage bags except the one in the small can, no extras. I shouldn’t have to ask for common supply’s. I texted the host number and asked for a blanket for the bed, to swap for the fluffy comforter covering nylon sheets. The response was to look in the closet (which we had done twice) and if there was not a blanket in the closet, then we don’t have any. Again, lack of personal response for my rental needs. I have rented many property in FBGTX, from Absolute Charm to single owners, and this was one ranks below standard for attention to details on the management side of things. I will not be renting from Gastehaus Schmidt in the future.
