Willkommen to Jenschke Haus in the heart of historic Fredericksburg! Stay steps from downtown for your next Texas wine country getaway. Convenient for groups and spacious for families and Bachelorettes. Your own private, newly remodeled historic 3000 sq ft home—only a 2 minute walk from MarketPlatz and Main Street!
Perfect for big groups (and getting ready for events) with four King Bedrooms, a bunk room (two twins), three full bathrooms and a half bathroom, Gourmet kitchen, two living areas (one with sleeper sofa), a study, reading nook, a private screened porch, hot tub, backyard regulation bocce ball court, gas grill, fire pit, and high speed WiFi throughout. Enjoy your morning coffee using either a Keurig or a regular drip coffee maker - all guests are provided regular coffee, creamer, and sugar. All this situated on a large private lot, backing up to greenbelt and Town Creek.
Lose the Main Street noise without missing the party! Enjoy the best of both worlds with a quick walk from your quiet neighborhood.
Use caution when booking other Fredericksburg guesthouses that claim to be 'walking distance' to Main Street. Often, you’ll end up walking 30 minutes to get to most of the galleries, shops, restaurants, beer gardens and festivals.
Fredericksburg is a small town, but it’s a Texas town and "Main Street" spans several blocks. However, 90% of bars, galleries, shops, tasting rooms, restaurants, and festivals are between Crockett Street & Washington. This puts the Jenschke Haus right smack dab in the middle of where you want to be. If you like Oktoberfest or other MarktPlatz festivals, don’t miss this one!
Getting around-
90% of bars and restaurants are a 5-minute walk. Wineries are also easy to reach by car or local tour operators. Send us a note for recommendations!
Be sure and visit the Farmer's Market at MarketPlatz on Thursdays from late spring to end of summer.
First Friday of the month features a local Gallery Art Walk where all the art galleries stay open a bit later (8 pm) and serve wine while you shop.
You can drink beer/wine in public downtown so don't worry about grabbing a beer while you walk around town.
Don't J-walk or make U-turns on Main Street. It's dangerous and they'll write you a ticket (or warning). Wait for the crosswalk to turn white.
Pet allowed, but there is a pet fee of $150 (plus taxes) limit of 2 pets. Pets are not allowed on furniture/beds. Please pick up after your pet(s). Pets must be kenneled if ever unattended. Violation of our pet policy may result in a $300 fine + cleaning expenses (if applicable).
