About this cottage rental

This Old Dairy in The New Forest, Bramshaw, has been converted from a traditional working dairy into a beautiful self catering cottage on a quaint county farm. Ponies, donkeys, cattle, sheep and deer roam freely throughout the countryside all year.

Ideal for couples and small families to enjoy: horse riding, cycling, walking and the famous Peppa Pig World within a 10 minute drive. There are also lots of traditional English pubs to enjoy.

Inside there is bedroom/living area with TV, double and sofa bed, a very well equipped kitchen including crockery, cooking utensils, fridge/freezer, hob, oven and microwave and a shower room.

You'll also have your own private garden complete with swing seat, pub bench and barbecue overlooking the surrounding fields.

With lots of parking space, guests must walk (25m) from the driveway, across the courtyard to the private fenced area surrounding The Old Dairy.

Guests are welcome to interact with our animals which include emus, donkeys, sheep, horses, ducks and chickens providing children are under parental supervision at all times.

The property is home to our pet dogs, chickens, ducks, sheep, geese, horses, donkeys, emus and farm cats, who are all very friendly and often entertaining!

The Old Dairy is a lovely comfortable and cosy place to stay, in a great location. The garden area overlooking the animal paddock is a joyful place to sit. Andrea and Ian are lovely and accommodating hosts. The Green Dragon is a great place to eat and drink, the food is excellent and good value.

A lovely tranquil setting for the cottage just inside the New Forest. The cottage had everything we needed for a 5 night stop and really enjoyed being surrounded by various animals and birds. The cottage was comfortable with a nice separate outdoor area to relax. Conveniently located for the Southampton Docks from where my wife went on a 3 night cruise.

We booked to stay here for our honeymoon. It’s a really special place to us as we got engaged in the New Forest whilst staying at this property back in 2022. We always love staying here, Andrea is such a lovely host and we love all of the animals. We look forward to coming back soon.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay then this is the place for you! It’s a very pretty location with a few divas next door (the sheep!) they love a rich tea biscuit and will make sure you remember them!! I had a fabulous time exploring the new forest and this was in the perfect location to come back and relax in…loved it

What a lovely place to stay for christmas , with the donkeys and sheep it made it very traditional. The dairy is situated in a secluded corner overlooking paddocks, very restful and cant wait to return in the summer. Thank you to the host for making us so welcomw.

Myself, my partner and my daughter have had the most wonderful week staying at this property. We couldn't recommend it more to anybody who would like to enjoy farmyard scenery. Our daughter has thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all of the animals onsite and Andrea is extremely welcoming. It has been a truly wonderful week and we cannot wait to do it all again next year during summer time. 5 stars all round! Thank you for such a wonderful week

Stayed for 3 nights just for a short break in feb, sadly it happened to be the weekend storm Dennis hit so couldn't do the walkin we would have liked to. Very lovely cosy little cottage very clean and looked recently done up. Was lovely to close the curtains and forget about the weather outside :) had a lovely dinner on valentines day in the green dragon pub just down the road. It was lovely waking up to the sound of the cockeral crowing and donkeys shouting for there breakfast. Looking out ova the fields and seeing the emus right by the window was lovely. Would definitely come back again 👍🏻

On the positive side the owners were very nice people and it was an absolute pleasure living on a small farm. A true delight looking out of the window to see emus donkeys chickens geese dogs and cats. Also horses in the stables. Not to mention how stunningly beautiful the New Forest is and the multitude of fantastic country pubs. Would recommend the area to anyone. However we thought the actual accommodation was lacking. It seemed that it was converted to a holiday cottage with the bare minimum input. It was cold damp and the bed and settee were particularly uncomfortable. The whole décor and fittings were old and tired, it lacked any character or appeal, and was generally just unspecial. Maybe we have been spoiled in our past holiday rentals. I would not recommend this cottage and would advise it needs money spent on it to improve the quality.

Lovely accommodation set on a small holding. Owners were welcoming and friendly. Accomodation was clean, quaint and perfectly adequate. Dairy over looked the Emu's, ducks, sheep, chickens horses. We really enjoyed our stay at the old dairy and would definitely stay again!

We loved being amongst the animals and were lucky enough to see two lambs born. One thing we would say is that the sofa bed may have had its day as after a few hours we were practically on the floor! As this is the only seating it was a bit of a problem, however as the evenings were mostly dry we sat outside enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

Two of us and the dog stayed here for a long weekend mid november. situation is great , we walked down to the Green dragon (nearest pub) and were safe walking home in the dark. the owner is great and so are her dogs!!! I thought that the property might be a bit on the small side but is easily big enough, and it has everything you need!! there is a lovely private enclosed area so that our dog could have her own space as she is a bit nervous around "lively" dogs!! the owners dogs are lively but so friendly you don't need to worry. we needed to put the heating on while there and it warmed up nicely. there are loads of animals to see on the property and its lovely to wake up and see them outside the window in the morning. we would definately stay here again THANKS

The converted dairy was a perfect get away in the heart on the New Forest. Only a short walk from some lovely village pubs. Woke up to the sound of the farm animals each day. It has a very equipped little kitchen. Absolutely perfect. Enjoyed every minute. Andrea was a lovely host. Thank you.
