Great views and spacious accommodations!

Great Place to stay. Ron and Christine were very wonderful and made us feel at home. Helped us with places to see and things to do. 5 stars in our book. The retreat was outside the city high on a hill overlooking a beautiful gorge. 15 minutes from city center with easy access. We will book there again if in Anchorage.

This is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the beauty and the solitude of the area! The downstairs apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable. It also included a stove, utensils and a refrigerator. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. We highly recommend this place for travelers such as ourselves!!

We hit the jackpot with the "Charming Hillside Retreat." It was by far the best place we stayed during our two week Alaskan Adventure. The apartment is well appointed and tastefully arranged with plenty of room for the two of us. Having the full kitchen, including full size refrigerator/freezer, was very handy, as was the WiFi. The very large walk in closet was also appreciated. Although the apartment is located just 20 minutes from the airport, it still provides a sense of Alaska -- see saw three moose within just minutes of the unit. Ron and his family were warm and welcoming with answers to all of our questions and provided a well planned list of easy to reach restaurants. With the apartment being the lower level of their family home, we were a little concerned that the noise level of the four young children and family dog would be distracting. We shouldn't have worried. We never knew they were there except on leaving or returning home. If your trip to Alaska includes a stay in Anchorage we highly recommend you stay at the Charming Hillside Retreat.
