Apartment in Ortigia for a holiday between the sea and the historic city

Spacy and fully equipped apartment in the heart of vibrant Ortiga. Rosanna was flexible with our special wishes and check in and out easy.

The apartment is comfortable and has everything we needed. The manager, Marianna lives close if you need her and the owner Rosanna is very responsive also. But the best thing about our time in this apartment is the neighborhood. It is a very lively area. The bakery downstairs starts early but they have wonderful arancini and bread. Anything you need or want is just steps away. Even with the puppet theater being just a few doors down the street, it is not a high tourist street. It is a great mix of shops and local residences.

we stayed here for 1 week with our 2 kids in august 2013 location: very good! right in the middle of syracuse's ortegia. you can walk to all places of interest in just a few minutes. right behind the corner and across the street are 2 small supermarkets where you can find all the necessary items. every day there's a market nearby (10 minutes walk or even faster). the staff in the shops was extremely helpful and friendly (and patient!). although in the middle of a city, there was a platform closeby (2 minutes walk) right on the seafront from where you can swim in the sea, even without a beach, great! accomodation: the apartment has all the items you need. cleanliness was also very good. there wasn't a microwave, but you don't need that really. the washing machine was of course very handy. reception: very good! we were guided from the outside of the town up to the appartment. the owner was very symphatic and helpful (we needed to see an eye doctor in the hospital and she assisted us all the way). 1 minus point: we were on holiday so we did expect some rest. however, there was a renovation work going on on the floor above us, so we were woken up every day at 7 o'clock by heavy sounds of drilling and hammering. we wished the owner would have told us about it. but then we might not have taken the apartment if we had known how noisy it would be (to be honest). so please check with the owner (not only for this apartment but for all others for that matter) if any work is going on in or around the house you want to rent (we had, believe it or not, the same problem in palermo, so 2 times in 1 holiday, that was a bit too much). as we were in a holiday mood, we took it all with a smile but still, when you pay good money for your only vacation in a year, you do not want to wake up in a construction site. (sorry Rosanna, you were so nice but this was true) in short: highly recommended if you want to enjoy a stay in syracuse

Ci siamo trovati molto bene. La casa è spaziosa, confortevole e dotata di tutti i comfort. La cucina attrezzata con tutto quanto necessario (olio, sale, zucchero, spezie, caffè,...). L'ubicazione dell'appartamento è perfetta: centralissima ma in una stradina tranquilla. Rosanna, la proprietaria, sempre disponibile, ci ha fornito utilissime indicazioni per esplorare la zona e per trovare un bravo elettrauto alla vigilia di Ferragosto!
