Massignieu House

The house is in a beautiful setting with lovely views and close to the lake beaches at bourget. We spent most of our time by the pool and the fantastic outside area which was perfect for our group of friends and children. The pool was a little chilly at the end of August, but refreshing on a hot day. The house was clean with most rooms decorated in an older style with antique french furniture. Only downside was the bathroom set-up for a group of friends with 1 shower off 1 of the bedrooms, a bath off one of the bedrooms, 1 separate toilet and a shower room in the laundry area with its own toilet.

Nous avons passé une très agréable semaine avec nos deux familles. La maison est grande et très bien pensée, il y a plusieurs espaces pour se détendre et apprécier la vue magnifique. Les enfants ont aussi beaucoup aimé la piscine, le babyfoot et le billard américain. Avant notre arrivée Jean-Louis a répondu à toutes nos questions ainsi que durant notre séjour. Nous avons aussi été très bien accueillis. La région est superbe et nous n’hésiterions pas à revenir à Massignieu de Rives.

A magical house in a beautiful area

We stayed here 7 adults and 4 children, all under 6 years of age. There was plenty of room for everyone, every part of the house is spacious. It is beautifully decorated which adds to the experience. Our favorite part though was the garden and outside area. There you will find apples, raspberries, figs, pears... And it's beautifully designed. The pool in the garden is nicely secured so you don't have to be tense about young kids playing in the yard. And on warm days it is a lot of fun to hit the pool. I would totally recommend this property for anyone looking to enjoy relaxing days in French countryside.

Great house for families. It has everything you need and more. We stayed with 6 adults and 6 children age 6 and under. House manager was friendly and welcoming. Location was great. We all felt at home for the week we were there. Will be back again.

The house is situated perfectly for cycling in this region (Grand Colombier, Mont du Chat, but also ViaRhona, all along the Rhone!). It is a very comfortable house with a good kitchen and bathroom facilities. It has a very authentic character with different stages, surprising doorways and rooms and really nice details. The pool-billard is super! We had a very nice week here with our group of ten people.

We were a group of three families: 7 adults and 3 children (1, 5 and 8 yo). The house is big and suited us well. Plenty of beds (no crib though), enough toilets and showers, spacious kitchen and living area. We spent most of our time outside on the terrace or by the pool. The outdoor area is very spacious with a big table where everyone could sit together, another smaller table in the shadows, a sofa and a hammock. A gate has to be opened to access the pool area which is perfect when there are small children around. The house is situated in a small village and you must have a car to get to the super market and such. There is space for 4-5 cars in the shadow.Overall we were really happy with our stay. There were just a few things that could have made it even better. There is only one wardrobe to hang your clothes in the house. Other rooms had dressers though. The beds werent the best but OK. The garden furniture needs to be updated, the chairs were literally falling apart. There were piles of dog poop in the grass which we had to pick up so the kids could run free. Lastly there was very little information in English. The information book in the house is mostly in French and so is the information on the HomeAway app. The owner speaks English very well though and answered all my questions through email.Would highly recommend this house and would love to come back one day!

A week of pure rest and relaxation

I am a little hesitant to write this review as I don't want so many people knowing about such a great place. Approximately 10 of my friends and myself spent a week at this immaculately maintained farmhouse in Massignieu De Rives. It is easy to find using GPS and the surrounding area is incredibly scenic with lots of different things to do, such as hiking, biking, swimming, etc. The only drawback was that the house was so comfortable that it was hard to leave! The very gracious owners greeted us upon arrival and took us on a personal tour of the house and it's surroundings. You could tell that they take a great deal of pride in the property. The pictures do not do this place justice. The house is quite big and can easily accommodate a large group of people without feeling like you are tripping over each other. We spent most of our time out on the terrace, which offers amazing views, and by the pool. The house is a 10 minute drive from both a large supermarket and a train station which has direct connections to Lyon and Geneva. The bedrooms are all very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped to handle the cooking required for a party of 10-12. In summary, this house and it's relaxing surroundings offer a great getaway for a group of friends or family and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future.

Seeking a large property in a picturesque area which would suit a special family holiday, this house looked ideal. Prior to our stay, communication with the owners was professional and thorough. Celebrating our recent retirements with our son and daughter and their children, my husband and I selected this particular property on account of its space, location and gated pool. A stunningly beautiful building, the house contained traditional French furniture - some antiques - together with some shabby chic and modern touches but it had a very friendly, homely atmosphere. Well maintained during the rental periods by the charming caretaker Yves, we were reassured that he was available should we have any concerns - we did not. The house suited our needs perfectly as it had plenty of space where people could 'do their own thing' and the gardens were ideal for our little grandchildren with opportunities for them to play hide and seek, play ball games and pick fruits from the orchard. We spent most of the time in the local vicinity - walking, bathing at the lakes and mountain activities. It is a stunningly beautiful region - probably now my favourite in France. One of the wine producers in the village sells stone baked bread on Saturdays and this was delicious. We barbecued most evenings as the weather was delightful, buying what we needed at nearby Belley. The pool was a welcome treat in the heat and the house is lovely and cool indoors. A fabulous stay!

Nous avons séjourné ensemble à 3 familles dans cette très belle propriété. La communication a été facile et amicale tant avec le propriétaire qu'avec la personne intermédiaire sur place. Les extérieurs sont magnifiques et bien pensés, il y a plusieurs espaces : terrasse très bien exposée juste devant la maison, terrasse ombragée sur le côté de la maison et terrasse "suspendue" comme un balcon au-dessus de la piscine. Il y a également beaucoup de mobilier de jardin, confortable. La maison est aussi très agréable et spacieuse, on s'y sent bien. Un gros plus est sa fraîcheur malgré la canicule! Bref, nous recommandons cette propriété pour un séjour dans la région.

Ein traumhaftes Objekt in herrlich ruhiger Gegend! Unsere (hohe) Erwartung wurde tatsächlich übertroffen. Wenn denn nur der freundliche Weinbauer am Anfang der Straße sein Holzofenbaguette jeden Tag und nicht nur Samstags backen würde... Zum Weinkaufen selbst, ist man für gehobenere Wein in Jongieux besser aufgehoben und bei voller Belegung aller 6 Doppelzimmer wäre ein Zusätzliches Bad/WC noch das I Tüpfelchen

(buiten : zetels, lounge-meubilair) Mooi gemeubleerd nr de stijl vh huis..Zwembad zéér proper en onderhouden....In de streek voldoende mogelijkheden vr uitstappen....Vriendelijk onthaal... In één woord, ons verblijf v 1 week was SCHITTEREND !!!!

Superbe maison, propre, spacieuse, les extérieurs sont très bien pensés. Nombreuses places de stationnement, propriété clôturée. Accès piscine en contre bas, avec portillon sécurisé pour les enfants. Terrasse suspendue très agréable, Yves nous a très bien accueilli et nous a très bien expliqué les consignes. Séance de billard et de ping pong, concours de plongeons, balades à vélo, vous n'aurez que l'embarras du choix, impossible de s'ennuyer ! Une propriété à recommander ! Merci 😁😁

We had a super holiday at this place. The communication with Jean Louis was really clear, friendly and in English (nice for us non French speaking). The house was even better than the pictures. A really warm atmosphere with many places to sit down both in the Sun and shade. The pool was big, clean and well maintained. The area around the house is great for hiking, cycling etc. Overall we had a excellent stay and we hope to come back at this place somewhere in the future! Can realy recommend this place!

Nous avons passé une très agréable semaine dans cette belle ferme rénovée spacieuse et fonctionnelle agrémentée de deux terrasses de plein pied très bien aménagées. Nous avons apprécié les nombreux jeux mis à disposition pour les enfants et les adultes, le magnifique parquet de la cuisine et de la salle à manger et pour terminer, le plus important à nos yeux, le contact franc, cordial et rapide avec le propriétaire.

De woning was voor ons zeker OK. Fijne plek om te verblijven.Genoeg ruimte voor 12 personen. Zeer goede ontspanningsmogelijkheden. Een mooi en groot zwembad. Mooie nieuwe terrassen en veel privacy. Er waren wel te weinig buitenstoelen. 8 stoelen voor 12 personen is te weinig.Ook geen parasols. Dit was wel een minpunt.

A wonderful place to stay in a beautiful area of France

We had an amazing time in this beautiful house in Massigneu de Rives. The rooms were cosy and comfortable and the garden offered all that we needed on a holiday trip: a beautiful terrace overlooking the valley, a sofa in the shade, a swimming pool, fruit trees, and a wonderful spot to have sunny breakfasts/lunches/dinners. In the shed we found several bikes that we were allowed to use for a cycling trip, and the house is located at a convenient distance from all kinds of attractions (charming lakes, restaurants, wineries etc). The owners of the house were friendly and helpful, and would help out immediately if we encountered a problem. We would really recommended staying at this gorgeous place!

Le séjour a été parfait ! Une superbe maison de caractère extrêmement confortable, dans un village calme, très bien situé avec vue magnifique. Tout est confortable et pratique avec ce qu'il faut pour cuisiner, se détendre. La cuisine est superbe quand on aime cuisiner, car elle donne sur le séjour directement ou la terrasse quand on souhaite manger dehors. La maison est particulièrement appréciable avec tous les petits recoins à découvrir, ses chambres, et des univers propres tel une maison d'hôtes où tout est décoré avec soin et goût. On s'y sent bien et le séjour en devient trop court ! On en redemande. Propriétaire très sympathique, agréable qui fera tout pour que le séjour se déroule au mieux ! On regrette simplement de ne pas venir quand les températures sont un peu juste pour la piscine ! Mais ça, personne n'y peut rien.... Si le propriétaire avait un pouvoir sur le temps, le lieu en deviendrait paradisiaque... Ce serait sans doute trop ! :-)

We stayed here for a fantastic 2 weeks. Ideal location for exploring the French countryside. House was very large and plenty of room for everyone to have their own space (7 people)..with easily another 4. Everything needed for our holiday was within the house. Pool was great for the kids. Good outside space for shooting. Information pack within the house was really useful. No shops in village so we did a shop in Belley along with the bread shop. We wouldn't hesitate booking this house again. 5 stars!

Das Haus ist der absolute Knaller. Wie auch schon ein Bewerter zuvor, möchte ich dieses Schmuckstück eigentlich gar nicht teilen ;-) Das Vertragliche und die Übergaben waren unkompliziert. Das Haus und der Pool sind sauber. Die einzigen zwei 'Mankos' sind die etwas durchgelegenen Matratzen und der Geruch nach altem Haus aber letzteres macht es nur authentischer. Nous avons été complètement séduits par la maison de Massignieu. Très belle rénovation, bien entretenue, confortable avec une déco très sympa et de bon gout, vue sublime ; le jardin est bien pense avec une terrasse et un coin barbecue très bien aménagés plus… une vraie grande piscine vraiment très agréable! Nous avons passe une semaine magnifique entre activités nautiques du lac et du Rhône tout proches et simplement se relaxer et profiter de la maison, (ping-pong, billard, piscine, barbecue...). Très utiles aussi : Livret d'accueil complet sur les activites proches et consultation des cartes IGN de la region pour ballades ou randos... Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les informations avant séjour directement données par le propriétaire "a distance" et les conseils de M.Sibuet lors de la remise des clefs. Rien ne manquait dans cette maison pleine d’attentions...comme chez des amis. Merci ! Nous espérons bien revenir l’année prochaine !

Large house with plenty of space for us, a group of 11 in a quiet neighborhood. It has two living rooms a seperate dining room and 5 bedrooms. It could do with an extra bathroom/toilet. The house remains cool during summer because of it's thick walls and outside hatches on the windows. The lush garden offers several terraces, a large pool, and beautiful views of the valley and the Dent du Chat, a nearby mountain. The owners speak English very well which makes it easy to communicate. The local contact/caretaker however doesn't speak any English making it difficult to communicate in detail. There are plenty of walks in the mountains nearby as is Lac du Bourget. The village itself doesn't have any shops/boulangerie so you need a car to do your (grocery) shopping. Pool room and outside Pingpong table were frequently used, as was the pool. Let the caretaker open and close the pool cover for you as it appeared to be fragile.

Maison très confortable et spacieuse Vue execptionnelle. très bien équipée, Plus de penderies serait cependant souhaitable, Bel espace jardin qui toutefois pourrait être un peu plus soigné, par contre très belle piscine avec une eau parfaite. Assistance très attentive de la personne chargée de l'accueil. Magnifique endroit pour des vacances en famille ou entre amis.
