Seaside Fisherman Cottage Southwold

Very narrow time window for a stay for one night. You couldn’t check-in until 4 pm and out before 10 am the next day. Heavy mails about this eg we have guest coming in the next day, should be your management problems not our concern,but poor communications about the access code no doubt to enforce the 4 pm rule, but we were already in Southwold and saw when the cleaning team finished. Sat around waiting for the access code in spite of several previous communications. Finally go the code after 3pm, ( not really acceptable since you take the money up front) So at 4pm the key was already there, and (not dropped off at 4 by the owner), as the eventual communication indicated, but we sat around waiting for as the mail said the key to be dropped off. Think that we might have enjoyed our short notice mess stay if we hadn’t been waiting on timed events, which were unnecessary, because as mentioned we know when the cottage was ready..

Beautiful little cottage, easy access to town and pleasant overall setup

Checkout time at 10am is a bit steep considering that check-in time isn’t before 4pm… can extract in the shower room wasn’t working. Courtyard furniture weren’t cleaned and cleared of cobweb … otherwise wonderful place to stay

Its location, tiny cottage but has most things you need there to be comfortable.

The sofas are a bit like office furniture, didn’t enjoy the beds I’m afraid, I do not like memory foam, curtains were too short for the windows - really odd! Just felt quite basic. Unfortunately the bed gave me terrible neck pain. Also found the pricing not transparent while booking, apparently I had only booked the ‘house’ for single occupancy and then ended up having to send additional money on the day of arrival. Bit of a let down and wouldn’t stay again.
