Moulin Vaddie is surrounded by mountains, lochs, burns and forests. Fantastic walks to deep pools in burns to swim in that can all be reached from the back door of the cottage. Other activities include rock climbing, boating and there is a tennis court 2 miles away for shared use with other holiday cottages. The cottage is reached by a mystical access road through the wild forest and allows guests to adjust to the utter wilderness while watching wild birds, deer and hares. You can enjoy the complete silence and the never ending views, climb monroes from the doorstep or simply just relax in the walled garden. The property is surrounded by fields which make for good team sports. There is a swing in the trees opposite and a burn nearby providing endless activities for children. The cottage was recently restored to impeccable and comfortable standards with all modern conveniences and boasts 2 Jetmaster fireplace, the one in the bar is an indoor barbecue.

Gorgeous aesthetic some of the amenities are very dated. Stunning is the perfect word for the views. But, this cottage is very far away from everything so add 25 minutes to your drive if you aren't planning on doing the remote, quiet wilderness thing. The track is a farm road, so bring your wellies and your all-wheel drive. And I would advise arriving well before dark. There is NO internet and spotty cell coverage which if you are trying to unwind will work for you. Also be aware you are carrying out your own rubbish. It's strictly pack in pack out.

We did enjoy our stay at the cottage. Getting there is not for the fainthearted. In fact it was too much for one couple and they chose to book themselves into a hotel in Pitlochry rather than face the drive down the mile long dirt track. The other two couples stayed for our full time there. There were some enchanting things about the cottage, the scenery was first class. The house itself was comfortable but the bathrooms weere all lacking. The first had no heat, the second bathroom desperately needed a new shower curtain and the shower room had smold in the showe stall. The living room and kitchen was well stocked with all we needed for cooking. There was plenty of firewood. One we got to grips with the heating, we found the three bedrooms upstairs comfortable and clean. Be prepared to move cows as you go through the 5 gates on the way. The changing light, heard of deer, cows and sheep were fascinating and fun.

the whole family group felt it was a privilege to stay somewhere so beautiful and close to nature.
it was just perfect for our group aged 7 up to 67, the kids and big kids played in the stream, on the swings under the trees, trekking the hills behind before bedtime, kayaking in the loch down in the village or trekking to the top of schiehallion, finally getting some breeze in the hot sunshine.
not just the walks but the enclosed garden and the enclosed field in front of us, empty of cattle or sheep was perfect for the dogs during our stay.
very relaxing house, easy to cook supper or barbecue indoors while the family played darts in the snug room.
we'd all recommend the place to others, the 15 minute drive from the house to the road was always an adventure where my grandson liked to be gatekeeper, the cows are so chilled watching us. we all loved our stay.
we had a problem with the dishwasher and it was exchanged the same day, excellent maintenance team.

This property was perfect for seven adults from America who wanted a central location and a taste of rural Scotland. The property is remote enough for peace and quiet, but close enough that we could take daily excursions in all directions. Our 5 night stay was perfect.
