Quiet location, wilderness area, and off grid in terms of wifi and electricity plugs were at the main reception area rather than the accommodation.
Getting there requires a car in most cases, and fireplace was the only type of heating so you need to know how to use it. It gave a bit of smoke inside the lodge.

A beautiful spacious house, enclosed garden for the dog. Very comfortable bed. Host very helpful, accommodating, great suggestions. Lots of wild life. Very peaceful.
Wifi was unstable. We didn't mind having no TV but someone else might expect that. Not much crockery. No hairdryer.

A magical estate with the most beautiful and well thought through hideaway. We could see beavers while having breakfast! The owners were super friendly and helpful. Beyond our greatest expectations!
All was amazing

The accommodation was outstanding. Clean spacious well equipped with what you need for your stay. This was Dog friendly cottage with an enclosed garden for your dog to run around. It was peaceful with lovely views, packed with wildlife. The best way to describe It, would be walking in to a lottery win, your dream countryside home. Scotland is such a beautiful place, very friendly people. I Would definitely recommend, if you don’t mind not having a TV or workable Wi-Fi this is a gorgeous place to stay.
The Intermittent Wi-Fi signal, affect google and WhatsApp messages meant my sister and I was unfortunately unable to plan and communicate for are next day trip on an evening. (My sister was staying in the main house). We usually travel alone so this wouldn’t have affected us normally.

Very lucky with the weather arriving during a snow storm and waking up in a winter wonderland. Excellent location away from anyone else, very clean cabin. wildlife right outside. The hideaway had everything we needed. Loved seeing the beaver tracks and the pigs. Bed was comfy and the quality of the bedding was to a high standard. Nicely decorated within and having the fairy lights was a nice touch. Particularly liked the ethos of the estate about re-wilding and eco friendly accommodation. We the honesty shop in the main building but would have liked to see some local sourced honey on offer.
Friendly staff/owners and they had lit the fire prior to our arrival.
There wasn’t really anything to dislike but We knew it was going to be cold and booked anyway but the log burner puffed out a lot of fumes every time we opened it to tend to the fire meaning we had to keep opening the main door or windows to get rid of the smoke. We are experienced with log burners and open fires so it may just need swept. There wasn’t any wind and low pressure so this would also have accounted for the smoke coming in to the cabin.

We stayed in the hideaway next to the beaver pools. It’s an off grid cabin so don’t expect running water or electricity. The hideaway is very comfortable and has basic cooking facilities provided by gas, a log burner to keep the cabin warm and fairy lights powered by solar panels. The location of the hideaway is perfect for those seeking peace and quiet in nature, no light pollution or close neighbours (unless you count the wildlife). Composting loo and has run shower also available for use. The bed in the cabin is very comfortable and bedding of good quality, basic utensils and cooking facilities which is everything you need for a short stay. Towels provided. Honestly shop at the main house for purchasing wood, candles and other bits. The estate is part of a rewording project and has cattle, panties, pigs, deer and of course the beavers. We saw the beavers on the first and last night we stayed at around 8pm in the evening. The owners and people running the estate are friendly and helpful. Perfect opportunity to stay with nature and get away from it all, not for people expecting luxury and hot tub holidays but perfect for what we wanted. This was our second visit so will be returning.
Nothing to dislike.

We booked this accommodation because it is a rewilding estate and we loved our stay. It was so peaceful and the views were amazing. We loved being surrounded by nature and being able to go for long walks and see the wildlife on the estate. We would definitely stay there again.
The kitchen and bathroom could benefit from some modernisation, but they have everything you need.

Total peace and tranquility in a beautiful location . I come to Bamff at least once a year -it's a wee haven away from normal life !

very good location, it has a very homely feel to it.
The only thing for me personally that I’m a 6’1” tall person and the double bed is quite small for me and my partner together. My legs were hanging over the bed frame so it wasn’t very comfortable.

The location is great: peaceful, clean air, lovely hosts who can take you on a tour to see the beaver habitat, some very friendly pigs (my 2 year old loved those!) and even an osprey nest. The hosts even went so far as to find my child's hat after he dropped it somewhere on the estate (that will save a lot of tears!).

The location is wonderful, the area beautiful, the cottage very pretty and comfortable, the beavers were active and we managed to see them (briefly) and we will definitely visit again when we're in the area.

The cottage was cosy and idyllic and well equipped for our stay. We couldn't have asked for more. We were lucky enough to see beavers, pine marten, red squirrels and deer. We booked to return before we left and I can't wait to come back next year.

It was warm for a cottage which was perfect for our 3 months old baby. The fireplace, the comfy bed, the nature around, it was really cosy. We had a lovely stay.
There are 2 roads on each side of the cottage. There's not much passage though.

This is our second stay at Bamff, but the first time we have stayed at the Gate Lodge. The key was very easy to access and the ease of parking at the side was fantastic. We tried our best to get through the wood pile that had been left for us to use but there was more than enough to keep the stove going all evening. There was adequate amounts of plates, crockery and utensils in the kitchen to have breakfast, lunch and dinner without repeating. As always the Honesty Shop was there for any essentials that you may have forgotten and all at very reasonable prices. Best bit was seeing the progress that the beavers have made since we last stayed in March this year!
No real gripes at all. There was a hand written note on our arrival to advise that there was an issue with the TV, but that didn't effect our stay what so ever!

Just love coming to visit here. Making our way through all the types of accommodations available. Chose this one as it is dog friendly. Very secure garden for the dogs. Would recommend beaver walk, family loved it. Thanks and will be back again soon!

We stayed in an old cottage, quaint, with all necessary facilities. Plenty kitchen equipment, washing machine, comfy beds, cosy due to heating, but did have a wood burner too (which we didnt use). Porch with facilities to dry coats, and store boots/dog towels very useful too. The location is so peaceful, and there are plenty local walks, but within reach of Blairgowrie for shops, cafes, restaurants. We really enjoyed opportunity to see the wildlife, especially the beavers, and their handiwork. Owners friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Several rentals on site- cottages, yurts, cabin- but each with its own space. Our cottage was attached to the main house, so was probably in the "busiest" location of all, but this wasn't a problem (other than using the curtains in the bedrooms to ensure privacy).

Bamff is a really special place off the beaten track, it’s secluded but there is a buzz about the place somehow with fellow residents and visitors passing through - many walkers travelling the Cataran trail. I traveled solo with my 3 kids and we all loved this special place so much. My children called it there new home and said they never wanted to leave! One week on and I am missing it. I think it will be our regular spot. Lovely accommodation, location for walking and animal sightings, wild raspberry picking and a lovely little honesty shop for goods like fire wood and eggs from the chickens on the premises. It was wonderful, we will be back!
Would have been nice to have laundry detergent in honesty shop or in accommodation, as I wasn’t organised enough to have it on hand but next time I will be!

it’s a beautiful, old gate keeper cottage full of charm and character.
It was a little cold, but we got help with the heating quickly.

Lovely house. Deceptively spacious. Everything there that we needed. Nice location and surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff.
Given the time of year (winter!), it was a little bit cold and hard to heat the house, had to have the heating running for quite a long period of time to get comfortable. But, this is to be expected in an older house with single glazing windows.

The Bamff Hideaway is wonderful. The wooden cabin is very well thought through and exactly what adventurous travellers like. We stayed there 4 nights in January and do not regret it, we were warm and cosy. Just perfect. Wooden logs were provided and there are plenty in Bamff little shop to buy from if you need more. The shower located away from Hideaway is clean and a good size. Seeing beavers tremendous work was exceptional. Paul was a wonderful person to meet. The whole experience was unforgettable. Thank you Bamff.
